Este artigo relata uma experiência didática desenvolvida no CEPAE/UFG, com o conteúdo “Práticas Corporais de Aventura”, para alunos do 1º ano do Ensino Fundamental, tendo como eixo articulador o jogo simbólico, fomentado pela “contação de histórias” infantis. A ação foi delineada em 25 aulas com duração de 45 minutos, ministradas em três encontros semanais em turno matutino. A experiência está fundamentada nas bases teórico-metodológicas da pedagogia histórico-crítica, sobretudo nos estudos recentes sobre a didática. O percurso foi desenvolvido em uma tríade interdependente: 1º) Contação de história, através de adaptações de contos; 2º) Transmissão-assimilação dos conceitos inerentes ao conteúdo; 3º) Avaliação e registro no caderno de Educação Física. Para além da apropriação dos conceitos relativos às Práticas Corporais de Aventura, as crianças se tiveram acesso à relação metabólica entre o ser humano e natureza a partir do simbólico, evidenciando o processo dialético da prática pedagógica.
