The present paper aims to reveal the problems faced by teachers when teaching English for second – grade students at Al – Azhar 55 Islamic Primary Schoolin Yogyakarta. This bilingual school is considered as a pilot project which began theprogram in July 2016. There are only 2 classes which are the first and second grade.However, this study involved 21 second-grade students, 2 homeroom teachers, and 1native speaker. Qualitative method was applied in this study by combining documentanalysis, observation, and interview both students and the teachers. The results showsome problems occurred during teaching and learning process and how the teachersovercome them. The problems were (1) students’ lack of discipline during teaching andlearning process (2) the variety of students’ English ability, (3) difficulty in creating habit to use English as daily language, and (4) less support from parents. While, the solutions were (1) applying Class Dojo application, (2) providing the preparation class, (3) support and assistance from teachers and friends, and (4) hands – on learning.
This study aimed to illustrate some learning activities in Integrated English class byutilizing WhatsApp application and how the students respond to its implementation. The study was conducted in Accounting Department at University of Technology Yogyakarta. The subject of this study was 66 students in Accounting Class A of 2018/2019 Academic Year. The instruments to gather the data were observation, questionnaires and unstructrured interview. The result of this study showed that WhatsApp Application could be utilized as one of the beneficial devices to assist students in learning integrated English and there were positive responses from students during the implementation of WhatsApp in their learning process.
Pemasaran merupakan salah faktor penentu keberhasilan bisnis meskipun masih banyak perusahaan yang lalai dan masih menggunakan sistem konvesional sehingga omset penjualannya rendah. Pandemi Covid-19 turut menyumbang masalah terkait dengan omset penjualan. Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah Batik Berkah Lestari Imogiri, adalah salah satu yang terdampak pandemi. Hal ini terkait dengan sistem pemasaran konvensional yang diterapkan sampai sekarang. Kebijakan pemerintah terkait pandemi juga membuat aktivitas kehidupan terbatas. Masyarakat tidak lagi bebas berkunjung ke tempat perbelanjaan, sehingga dibutuhkan media untuk bertransaksi tanpa harus meninggalkan rumah. Perkembangan teknologi internet telah menghadirkan media yang disebut website. Fleksibitas, kemudahan, dan kesederhaannya menyebabkan media ini banyak digunakan. Fenomena ini yang akan dimanfaatkan untuk Batik Berkah Lestari dalam memasarkan produk-produknya di masa pandemi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan website sebagai media transaksi online bagi Batik Berkah Letasri. Dengan menggunakan website sebagai media transaksi elektronik, jangkauan pasar akan semakin luas sehingga peluang transaksi di Batik Berkah Lestari akan semakin besar.
The threat of COVID-19 succeed to release the idea of de-globalization among state, especially for economic struggling. This study aims to analyze the strategy of Indonesia economic during Covid-19 with the scheme of globalization study. The research method used is descriptive qualitative study method assisted by a simple literature study review in accordance with the material or research discussion. The scope of discussion is based on the data that limited to certain of media; the Jakarta Post, on September-October 2020 edition. By using an analytical tool, the three spectrums of globalization: hyperglobalist, sceptic globalist, and transformationalist are used to analyze the Indonesia economic strategy in the midst of COVID-19. Interestingly, this study explains that Indonesia does not follow the deglobalization agenda, but has its own strategies. The finding shows that transformationalist provides the scheme of globalization in better economic strategy to deal with economic and health problem in the midst of COVID-19. Thus, the transformationalist idea gives optimism in the midst of declining economy resilience during pandemic.
