Our results demonstrate that the 1,064-nm long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser could be a safe and effective treatment modality in the management of patients with onychomycosis.
Fractional bipolar RF provides clinical efficacy with safety in acne scars and enlarged pores through dermal matrix remodeling combined with tolerable epidermal ablation.
Toxic epidermal necrolysis with isolated neutropenia related to the use of levetiracetam Dear Editor, Levetiracetam (LEV) is a second-generation anticonvulsant that belongs to the category of non-aromatic antiepileptic drugs (AED) and does not form an arene oxide. It has been considered relatively safe compared with other aromatic AED. Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) induced by LEV is extremely rare and, to date, only four cases of TEN or Stevens-Johnson syndrome with LEV have been reported worldwide. 1,2 Figure 1. (a) Erythematous and denuded patches, and crusted erosions on the swollen face of the patient. (b,c) Diffuse flaccid bullae and erosions on the trunk. (d-f) Follow-up photos after 6 weeks of conservative treatment. (g,h) Histopathological findings show a detached epidermis with full-thickness necrosis (hematoxylin-eosin [HE], original magnifications: [g] scanning view; [h] 9200). (i) Mild perivascular infiltration of lymphocytes into the upper dermis (HE, 9200) .
