We have studied the efficiency improvement of OLED TVs using high transmittance technology and reversed quarter wave plate (r‐QWP) of the improved polarizer. It helped that the efficiency of OLED went up, so that power consumption and life time of OLED panels have been improved. In this paper, study on the efficiency improvement of OLED TV using new high transmittance polarizer will be presented.
We have developed an advanced polarizer to improve the flatness of LCD panels, which is realized by the use of a low water permeable protection film. With this method, the flatness of a panel has been remarkably improved compared to a conventional panel during changes in moisture and temperature. The new panel has improved the uniformity of light in the black state in comparison to that in conventional panels. In this paper, a study of the improvement in flatness for LCD panels using a new advanced polarizer is presented.
