The Chinese UDI-6 and IIQ-7 is reliable and valid. Study on the responsiveness to treatment is in progress. They are useful in assessing impact of the urinary incontinence in Chinese women.

• Increases in resting pressure (precompression) applied by the operator increases thyroid stiffness. • Papillary cancers show greater increases in stiffness (strain hardening) than benign nodules. • Precompression may affect the diagnostic performance of shearwave elastography for thyroid malignancy.

Pelvic floor ultrasound in midsagittal, axial or coronal planes does not correlate well with clinical assessment for paravaginal defects. This could be due to poor clinical assessment technique or limitations of the ultrasound method. On the other hand, paravaginal defects may be uncommon or clinically irrelevant. On present knowledge, the paravaginal defect has to be regarded as an unproven concept.

Premenopausal women with Marfan syndrome had a higher incidence of reported urinary symptoms. Urinary incontinence should be added to the list of clinical manifestations in women with Marfan syndrome.
