Uluslararası tarım ürünleri ticaretinde önemli rol oynayan Avrupa Birliği (AB), ülkemiz için de önemli bir pazardır. AB, ithal ettiği gıda ürünlerinin güvenli olmasını sağlamak için Gıda ve Yemde Hızlı Alarm Sistemini (RASFF) kurmuştur. RASFF, gıdalarda belirlenen risklere karşı alınan önlemler hakkında bilgi alışverişini sağlamak amacıyla oluşturulmuş etkili bir araçtır. Bu çalışmada, RASFF'ın yapısı ve işleyişiyle birlikte, RASFF portalından elde edilen veriler ışığında, 2011-2015 yılları arasında Türkiye kaynaklı gıdalara ilişkin RASFF bildirimlerinin incelenerek, Türkiye'nin gıda ürünleri ihracatına etkilerinin ve bu etkiler karşısında yetkililerce alınan tedbirlerin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Türkiye kaynaklı bildirimlerde ürün gruplarına göre en fazla bildirimin meyve ve sebzeler ile sert kabuklu yemişler için alındığı; tehlike kategorisine göre ise; mikotoksin ve pestisit kaynaklıların ilk sıralarda yer aldığı dikkati çekmektedir. AB'ye ihracatta RASFF bildirimi alan gıda ürünlerinin Türkiye'ye iadesi, gümrüklerde bekletilmesi veya imhası sonucunda başta ekonomik ve ürün kalitesi olmak üzere, zaman kaybı yanında yurtdışı ve yurtiçi prestij kaybı da yaşanmaktadır. Bu kayıpları önlemek veya azaltmak için üreticilerin İyi Tarım Uygulamaları ve HACCP ilkelerini bütünleşik biçimde uygulaması, bununla birlikte yetkili makamların da üreticilere yönelik eğitim faaliyetlerinin etkinliğini arttırması gerekmektedir. Türkiye'nin gıda ürünleri ihracatında önemli yeri olan AB'nin mevzuat ve uygulamalarına uyumun sağlanması ve ihracatçıların AB piyasasında rekabet edebilirliğinin ve üreticilerin uluslararası gıda güvenliği standartlarında üretim yapmalarının temini büyük önem taşımaktadır.
