INFLUENCE OF COILING TEMPERATURE IN THE MECHANICAL AND MICROSTRUCTURAL PROPERTIES TO PRODUCE DUAL PHASE HOT ROLLED STEEL SHEETS AbstractLow-carbon steels with ferritic-bainitic microstructures, dual-phase or complex-phase have appreciable features for this application that combines strength, ductility and formability, allowing produce thinner sheets resulting in weight reduction in the replacement of conventional steels without loss of its original features. In order to evaluate mechanical and microstructure characteristics obtained by distinct coiling temperatures, this work was developed from a low carbon steel with molybdenum and niobium microaddition, in order to produce dual phase or complex phase hot rolled steel processed on an industrial scale. The study was supported by microstructural and mechanical analysis, by optical microscopy, scanning electronic microscopy, uniaxial tensile tests and Vickers hardness tests. The best results was correlated with lowest coiling temperature associated with highest strength and ductility provide by significantly ferritic grains reduction associated to perlite and/or bainite with some martensitic islands.
STUDY OF THE STRUCTURAL AND THERMOPHYSIC CHARACTERISTICS ON THE HOT AND COLD ROTARY FORGING STEPS IN A NI-RICH NITI ALLOY AbstractSamples of NiTi-Ni alloys were used in this study to observe structural and thermophysical changes in rotary forging steps of the following conditions: Cast, Remelted and after different steps of the forging (first, third) and finally the cold (fifth and sixth). The variables of thermomechanical processing and the chemical composition are very important factors in the processing of these alloys, affecting the structure and consequently the phase transformations in shape memory effect and superelasticity. Thus, differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) test, to define the phase transformation temperatures, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) to observe the phases present at room temperature were done.
