The infant juvenile obesity is currently one of the most serious public health problems of the 21st century, being directly related to physical inactivity as a decisive factor in the worldwide epidemic. The programs of conventional workouts have become not so attractive for this particular population. Because of that the access and permanence in those structured physical activity programs for obese adolescents are difficult. This systematic review has the general goal to verify what benefits the systematic practice of hip hop dance, can promote in obese children and adolescents. The search for relevant articles was conducted in the electronic databases Medline (Pubmed), Cochrane, LILACS, SciELO from January through June 2014, being structured as [(hip hop /) and (obesity /) and (children/ adolescent), controlled and randomized trials were included regarding the systematic practice of hip hop dance as exercise and its benefits for obese children and adolescents, subjects aged 2-19, considered obese and/ or overweight. A total of 21 articles were identified in the survey. Based on the found eligible articles for the full review, only one article met all the inclusion criteria. This preliminary study is intended to broaden the context in health for adolescents and children suffering from overweight and/or obesity, recommending an intervention through dance hip hop, it would be an important modality association for possible monitoring and reducing the risk of associated comorbidities. In this field of research, there is a lack of studies of high methodological quality, which may be able to demonstrate the benefits of this type of intervention. Os voluntários desta pesquisa realizaram o Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) nas situações: sem música, música clássica (valsa) e música popular brasileira (samba). EFFECTS OF WALTZ AND SAMBA IN THE FUNCTIONAL MOBILITY OF PATIENTS WITH PARKINSON´S DISEASEABSTRACT: Several studies have shown that music is a good therapy for people with Parkinson´s disease. The intervention´s spatial and temporal stimuli may signalize gait cycle phases and provide the person with a more coordinated gait. Further, music therapy provides an increase in self-esteem, greater comfort, relax and wellbeing, with greater interactions when treatment is undertaken by groups of people. The effects of the musical genres, waltz and samba, on the functional mobility in people with Parkinson´s disease are investigated. Volunteers practiced Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) under the following conditions: without music, with classical music (waltz) and Brazilian popular music (samba). Data were weighed by descriptive and inferential statistical analyses by Fridman test and paired post-hoc Wilcoxon test at 5% significance level. In fact, samba provided a contrary effect in gait with a reduction of speed (p=0.04), number of steps (p=0.04) and cadence (p=0.04), with an increase in time (p=0.04) and step length (p=0.05) when compared to situations without music. Music´s intrinsic factor such as rhythm, harmony, melody and amplitude may be associated with an adverse effect observed in the functional mobility of people with Parkinson´s disease. SAMBA RHY THM FOR RHY THMIC HEARING STIMULATION AND GAIT PERFORMANCE IN PARKINSON´S DISEASEABSTRACT: Rhythmic hearing stimuli have been employed to attenuate motor dysfunctions in Parkinson´s disease. However, changes that may be caused in space-time parameters and functional performance of gait brought about by Brazilian popular music are not always evident. Current analysis deals with the musical genre samba during gait of patients suffering from Parkinson´s disease in a twotask situation. Current transversal, descriptive and exploratory study comprised five agents who fulfilled criteria and undertook the Timed Up and Go Test in situations without music and with Brazilian popular music (samba) through cognitive and motor tasks for gait analysis.Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis with Friedman´s test and with paired Wilcoxon post-hoc test (at 5% significance) evidenced that samba associated with a motor task reduced the speed (p=0.01) and gait length (p=0.04) when compared to test conditions without any music. Listening to music demanded more attention and resulted in the use of strategies to decrease demands of posture balance, such as reduction in gait length and speed. Decrease in falling risks in a twotask situation while listening to music may occur.
