Background: Anterior ethmoidal artery is a very important artery particularly useful in frontal and ethmoid sinus surgery. Aims and objective: Identification of landmarks of AEA in the medial wall of orbit and in the lateral wall of olfactory fossae and its relationship with the presence of supraorbital cell. Methods: Retrospective study was performed in 145 direct coronal CT scan of paranasal sinus from January to November 2016. Results: Anterior ethmoidal foramen was present in almost all scan (98%). The AEA canal was present in 33% (49 scan). Supraorbital pneumatisation was present in 28% (41 scan). Conclusion: Anterior ethmoidal foramen was present in almost all coronal CT scan of PNS. There was strong relationship between presence of supraorbital cell and AEA canal appearance.
Microteaching is a scaled down teaching encounter in class size and time. The word micro is emphasized to imply that there is reduction in both size and duration of class. It is aimed at practicing one particular teaching skill and focuses on a single concept of teaching. It is a real time teaching simulator which aids in acquiring in depth knowledge of the core art of teaching. It scales down the complexities encountered in regular professional teaching. Observing a flawless teacher and trying to come up to that particular standard is what most novice teachers try to do. Microteaching helps to eliminate common errors in teaching and improves both, in class teaching performance and class managing skills in junior as well as experienced teachers. In India, this powerful teaching improvement tool is rather underutilized and if practice of microteaching is made mandatory in all professional courses related to teaching it will produce versatile, dynamic and better teachers in India.

Background: Chronic suppurative otitis media is one of the common otological conditions in India for which patients seek advice from an otorhinolaryngologist. Various surgical modalities of treatment have been tried since ages, to eliminate the disease from middle ear cleft, with varying degrees of success rate. One such modality of treatment is myringoplasty. The aim of the present study was to assess the success rate of myringoplasty using temporalis fascia and to evaluate preoperative and postoperative hearing loss in patients with chronic suppurative otitis media.

Methods: Sixty adult cases of tympanic membrane perforation were included in the study. Myringoplasty was performed in all cases and hearing loss was compared both before and after surgery.

Results: Preoperatively 20 cases showed hearing loss at 16-25 dB, 26 cases at 26-40 dB, and 14 cases showed hearing loss at >40 dB. Graft uptake was successful in 50 patients (83.33%). Postoperatively definitive improvement of hearing was observed in 46 patients. The success rate of surgery in cases of dry ear with more than 6 months was 100%.

Conclusions: Outcome of myringoplasty does not depend on sex and site of perforation. Dry ear of duration greater than 6 months is a favourable prerequisite. Graft take up was impaired in cases of sclerotic mastoid and postoperative infection.
