Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum ada peneliti yang melakukan penelitian tentang kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Duruka. Masalah dalam penelitian ini ialah bagaimanakah kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Duruka dalam menulis teks eksposisi?. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Duruka. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan tergolong penelitian lapangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Duruka tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 dengan jumlah siswa yaitu 81 0rang siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan jumlah populasi yaitu 81 orang siswa dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrument yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dalam bentuk tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa berkategori mampu secara individu mencapai 34 responden (41,97%), sedangkan yang tidak mampu secara individu mencapai 47 responden (58,03%), sehingga kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Duruka tidak mampu secara klasikal. Dikatakan demikian karena secara klasikal hanya mencapai 41,97% tidak mencapai kriteria ketuntasan klasikal yaitu 85%. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari perolehan nilai yang diperoleh meliputi aspek kesesuaian isi dengan judul (58,03%), struktur teks eksposisi berupa tesis (39,51%),rangkaian argumentasi (13,58%), penegasan ulang pendapat (35,80%), unsur kebahasaan teks ekspsosisi berupa kata peristilahan (86,41%), kata perbandingan (20,98%), kata kerja mental (6,18%), kata perunjukan (12,34%), dan kata persuasif (54,32%). Dari keseluruhan aspek yang dinilai terdapat satu aspek yang dikategorikan mampu yaitu penggunaan unsur kebahasaan teks eksposisi berupa kata peristilahan. <p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p><strong></strong>Characterization of lines is needed to obtain information about their superiority. Indonesian Tropical Fruit Research Institute conducted inbreeding activities on melon and produced S5 lines generation consisting of eight lines from 2009 till 2011. In inbreeding activities, S6 and S7 lines generation were tested at Sumani Experimetal Station, Tropical Fruit Research Institute, West Sumatra. This study aims to establish a pure strain of melon with the advantages of certain properties and can be proposed as new varieties of open pollinated category. A randomized block design was used in this experiment with ten treatments (eight melon lines, namely 86DH, 86P, Nomani R, 411, 78 K, 86 M, MB3, MB4, and Amanta, Sweet M-10 and Glamour as comparitors), and 3 replications. Each treatment unit consisted of 20 plants. Qualitative data were analyzed descriptively, while quantitative data were analyzed using ANOVA. The observation result of characters of melon lines S6 generation indicated that 86 DH, Amanta (comparator) and MB3 lines have higher fruit weigh between 2,01 kg - 1,69 kg, while for TSS only Nomani R melon lines has TSS values lower than 9 lines. Based on the characters of the fruit flesh color, skin color, and texture of the fruit flesh, lines of 86DH, 78K, Nomani R and 411 were uniform. The observation result of characters of melon lines generation S7 showed that melon lines of 86P has superior character in weight, whilst 86M, 86P and R Nomani had superior character in sweet taste.</p><p><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p>Karakterisasi galur sangat dibutuhkan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang keunggulannya. Sejak tahun 2009 sampai 2011 Balai Penelitian Tanaman Buah Tropika melakukan penggaluran melon dan telah menghasilkan delapan galur S5. Dalam kegiatan penggaluran, materi pemuliaan galur generasi S6 dan S7 diuji di kebun percobaan Sumani, Balai Penelitian Tanaman Buah Tropika, Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membentuk galur murni melon dengan keunggulan sifat-sifat tertentu dan dapat diusulkan sebagai varietas unggul baru kategori open pollinated. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap dengan 10 perlakuan varietas melon (delapan galur melon yaitu 86DH, 86P, Nomani R, 411, 78 K, 86 M, MB3, MB4, dan pembanding yang sudah adaptif di lokasi penanaman yaitu Amanta, Sweet M-10 dan Glamour) dengan ulangan tiga kali dimana setiap ulangan terdiri atas 20 tanaman. Penelitian dilakukan mulai dari Januari 2012 &ndash; Desember 2013 dengan cara melakukan penanaman galur S6 dan S7 dan karakterisasi morfologi tanaman. Data kualitatif yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Varian (ANOVA). Hasil pengamatan karakter galur melon generasi S6 menunjukkan bahwa berat buah rata-rata tertinggi diperoleh dari galur 86 DH, Amanta (Pembanding) dan MB3 dengan berat antara 2,01 kg - 1,69 kg, sedangkan untuk TSS selain galur melon Nomani R (MB10), 9 galur melon yang diuji memiliki nilai TSS antara 11.1 &ndash; 12.7 0Brix. Berdasarkan karakter warna daging buah, warna kulit, dan tekstur daging buah, galur 86DH, 78K, Nomani R dan 411mengekpresikan keseragaman. Hasil pengamatan karakter galur melon pada generasi S7 menunjukkan bahwa galur melon 86P unggul pada karakter bobot dan galur 86M, 86P dan Nomani R unggul karakter rasa manis dibandingkan varietas pembanding Glamour. Galur melon 86M, 78K, 411, Nomani R dan MB3 seragam dan stabil untuk semua karakter yang diamati. Galur melon 86DH, 86P dan MB4 masih bervariasi untuk keragaan kulit buah dan warna daging buah.</p>
School is an essential thing for education quality. This time, the South Tangerang government is implementing a new student admission process using a zoning system; all prospective students must choose a school that has the shortest distance from their residence. However, many parents and prospective students do not understand this zoning system. The limited access to information is a problem for them, so they do not know where the schools are included in their zoning area. For this reason, the need to efforts the problem-solve to use Dijkstra's algorithm as a consideration to find the results more accurate for the shortest distance. So the exact solution that should implement the information technology this time is "Implementation of Dijkstra's Algorithm to Find a School Shortest Distance Based on The Zoning System In South Tangerang." It is a solution for parents and prospective students to get information about school choices included in their zoning.
Waste steel from used ship propeller shafts is reused for the keel structures of InaTEWS buoys. Because of the application of waste material, fatigue life assessment is critical. The purpose of this study is to assess the mechanical and fatigue properties of the waste material and to estimate the fatigue life of the keel structure as a result of sea wave loading. Material tests, fatigue tests and model tests were performed to obtain the parameters required for the estimation of the fatigue life, together with application of the spectral analysis method, including the effects of spectral band width. Chemical and tensile tests identified the material as low-carbon steel, with mechanical properties comparable to AISI 1035 steel. The fatigue tests resulted in an S-N curve (NS m = K) with m = 7.7 and K = 3.2×10 24 , showing a lower fatigue strength than AISI 1035 steel. The observed reduction in fatigue strength is ascribed to the previous use of the shaft. The calculated fatigue life based on the experimental S-N curve and the observed in-situ wave data is approximately 9.5 years, with a safety factor of 5.
The present research is concerned with the effect of Quizlet on students’ vocabulary achievement and perception. A quasi experimental research design was employed, involving a control group and an experimental group. Each group consisted of thirty students. The sample of the study was determined by way of purposive sampling. The only difference between the control group and the experimental one was that the latter was taught using Quizlet, whereas the former was not. Two types of instruments were used: a vocabulary test and a questionnaire. The findings of the research show that the experimental group outperformed the control group and that students had a positive perception on the use of Quizlet for learning vocabulary.Keywords:Quizlet, vocabulary achievement, Perception on Quizlet
