The new language assessment policies in the Philippines and in Indonesia have impact on English teachers’ assessment practices. Classroom assessment; as mandated in the current curriculum of both countries swifts from sources of information to the inseparable process of teaching and learning. This study describes Filipino and Indonesian high school English teachers’ classroom assessment practices in ELL classes.This study was conducted using a mix method design with 48 Filipino and Indonesian junior high school English teachers as respondents who completed the questionnaire on classroom assessment practices. Twelve respondents participated in an interview and observation to further clarify their practices on classroom assessment. The study found that both Filipino and Indonesian junior high school English teachers used assessment for learning as the main purpose of assessment. The majority of Filipino Junior High school English teachers prepared and made their own assessment, while Indonesian junior high school English teachers used items from published textbooks as their primary sources for constructing assessment items. Both Filipino and Indonesian junior high school English teachers used written comments as their primary method for providing feedback. Total score test and a letter grade were the highest percentage methods for providing a final report for both Filipino and Indonesian junior high school English teachers.
Assessing oral communications (speaking and listening) appropriately can helps students to have a good oral language development as well as their language literacy. Thus, this study aimed at finding out the answer of a question: "Howthe respondents' classroom assessment practices may be described in the term of methods to measure the students' skills in oral communications (speaking and listening)?" Survey using questionnaire was used to answer the research questions. The participants of this study were taken from six high schools of Banyumas Regency, Indonesia The research result showed that Indonesian High School English teachers were highly used teachers made assessment methods in assessing oral communication (speaking and listening) with overall mean more than 3. Answering multiplechoice test items following a listening passage was the most methods preferred by Indonesian English teachers
Perjalanan wisata selalu berkaitan dengan bagaimana seorang wisatawan mengunjungi obyek wisata berdasar kebutuhan informasi tentang rute yang harus dilalui ke obyek wisata yang diinginkan dan transportasi apa saja yang bisa digunakan berdasar waktu yang dimiliki. Petunjuk arah juga sangat diperlukan untuk kemudahan akses perjalanan. Model analisis pre-defined singkle-linkage dilakukan untuk menentukan obyek mana saja yang memiliki lokasi berdekatan bisa membentuk satu klaster dan kunjungan dilakukan berdasar jarak paling dekat dengan klaster menuju klaster berikutnya sesuai dengan kelompok jenis obyek wisata. Perhitungan jarak antar obyek dengan pengguna menggunakan metode Euclidean Distance untuk mencari jarak berdasar ketetanggaan terdekat. Hasil analisis penentuan obyek wisata di kota Semarang dengan metode pre- defined single-linkage divisualisasikan menggunakan dendrogram yang bisa menggambarkan kelompok obyek dalam satu klaster berdasar ketetanggaan terdekat. Dari dendrogram bisa dilihat jumlah klaster yang terbentuk dari 14 obyek wisata.
A village that has the potential as a tourist village for community-based touristdestinations based on the local wisdom of its people, as one of the triggers for theeconomic growth of the community in a rural area that offers an atmosphere of ruralauthenticity both from socio-economic, socio-cultural, customs, daily life, and spatialstructures. a typical village, or economic activity that is unique and interesting and has thepotential to be developed for various components of tourism, such as attractions,accommodation, culinary specialties of food and drink, souvenirs, and other tourist needs.Jatirejo tourist village as one of the tourist destinations is a village in the Gunungpati subdistrictthat is directly affected by the Jatibarang reservoir construction project. A total of62 hectares of agricultural land and plantations owned by residents are affected by thereservoir project. The area of Jatirejo Village in 2014 was 238,130 ha which wasdominated by yards, rice fields and mixed gardens. The large area of land affected by thereservoir project has an impact on activities in the agricultural sector, considering that theagricultural sector is the main source of income for residents in the Jatirejo sub-district.Livelihood data recorded as many as 234 people who work as land-owning farmers, 33people who work as sharecroppers and 427 people who work as farm laborers.With theconstruction of the Jatibarang reservoir which is intended as a tourist destination, theJatirejo village which is located around the reservoir is expected to have a positive impacton the development of the reservoir as a tourist attraction by elevating the Jatirejo touristvillage as one of the village tourist destinations in the city of Semarang. Existing potentialcan be explored without leaving the existing culture. Assistance and facilitation by theservice team in the form of building a community-based mindset and good governance isexpected to grow the existing potential and capabilities to optimize the management ofJatirejo as a tourist village.
