Introduction:The under-five population is a unique and vulnerable component of our society that always demands special attention.Aims:Our present work aimed to study the seasonal variation, age-wise variation and distribution of lesions of common dermatoses of this age group.Materials and Methods:We clinically studied all fresh cases attending the skin OPD of our hospital for one month each from summer, rainy season and winter. Total number of patients was 879.Results:The top six skin diseases in our study were impetigo, miliaria, scabies, furunculosis, seborrheic dermatitis and papular urticaria. On statistical analysis, scabies and seborrheic dermatitis were more prevalent during winter while impetigo, furunculosis and miliaria were more during summer and rainy season. Papular urticaria was more frequent in the rainy season. Seborrheic dermatitis predominantly affected the infants while impetigo, furunculosis, miliaria and popular urticaria were commoner in older age groups.Conclusion:Distribution of lesions of common dermatoses will help diagnose difficult cases and extensive evaluation of the body parts which, by virtue of being commonly affected, are must-examine sites in under-five children.

Fano resonances in metamaterials attract intense attention due to their sharp asymmetric spectral feature and low radiative loss channel. Typically, Fano resonances are excited in metamaterials with broken structural symmetry in a planar configuration. Herein, the excitation of Fano resonance in geometrically symmetric metamaterial structure operating in the strong, deep sub‐wavelength coupling regime at terahertz frequencies is experimentally demonstrated. The structure consists of vertically stacked symmetric resonator array separated by an ultrathin polyimide spacer. Such meta‐structures can strongly support highly localized, intense electromagnetic field confined inside the sub‐wavelength volumes. It is further shown that the resonance linewidth and the field strengths can be engineered by tailoring the near‐field coupling through the ultrathin spacer layer. Such exotic features of perfectly symmetric Fano resonators provide an ideal playing ground for strong light–matter coupling, resulting in realization of ultrasensitive sensors, slow‐light devices, and energy‐efficient ultrafast terahertz modulators.

Reed's syndrome or familial leiomyomatosis cutis et uteri is an autosomal dominant disorder, characterized by multiple cutaneous and uterine leiomyomas. We report here a case of a 53-year-old woman who presented to us with multiple painful nodules over different parts of her body. Based on the histopathological examination, imaging, and past medical records, a diagnosis of Reed's syndrome was made. Three of her sisters had similar disease. Subsequently, it was found that a total of nine members of their family in two successive generations were affected with cutaneous leiomyomas. The present case series has been reported for its interesting clinical presentations and rarity.
