This paper provides a power quality analysis of single phase full bridge rectifier fed DC motor drive. A single phase full bridge rectifier is generally used in low voltage distribution system. It is necessary to analyse harmonic level and power factor. Here, DC motor is considered as the rectifier's load. The THD and power factor analysis is done for different loading conditions. The first analysis is based on variation of delay angle and its effect on THD and power factor. The second analysis is based on variation of torque or the changes in mechanical load done in the motor while maintaining the delay angle as constant. These analyses are useful in quantizing the THD and power factor at various conditions. FFT analysis on the input current provides the information about the various harmonics present in the waveform. The overall analysis is done using MATLAB software.
This paper deals with PFC-isolated Zeta converter fed LED drive to overcome the power factor problems. The proposed circuit topology consists of diode bridge rectifier and isolated Zeta converter with high frequency transformer. A single –phase supply is used to feed a DBR followed by a filter to avoid any switching ripple in DBR and the supply system. An isolated Zeta converter is operated to work under DCM mode. This combination of DBR and PFC converter is used to feed a LED drive. This converter is simulated in MATLAB platform. This converter provides better results such as unity power factor and less current harmonic distortion.
This paper provides the operation and analysis of three phase two quadrant controlled converter. In this paper, the converter is being checked with varying the duty cycle for two different loads R and RL. The Power factor, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and efficiency are better for very low duty cycle which is the same for RL load. This analysis estimates THD and power factor at various conditions. The FFT analysis is done to find the harmonic content present in the input current waveform. This analysis is done using MATLAB software.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
