This paper proposes a novel high step-up converter with an average mode control which is designed for power generation applications. The detailed steady-state analysis for the system is presented. According to the steadystate analysis, transfer functions of input voltage versus output voltage and duty cycle versus output voltage are obtained. In addition, some simplifications and design rules are proposed to facilitate the design of the feedback loop. The Sheppard Taylor Converter was primarily designed to provide non pulsing input and output current similar to the Cuk Converter, The energy of the cuk converter is bidirectional, but the sheppard taylor circuit trand former works is forward. The converter has two inductors that can shape the input current feed the output load, reduce the input and output current ripple. Compare to the cuk converter, the sheppard taylor converter can regulate output voltage with less variation in the duty cycle. Sheppard Taylor converter, state space averge model, high step up converter. High voltage gain DC-DC converters find its applications mainly in renewable energy integration.
