Fused pyridine derivatives R 0450 Design, Synthesis, Structure-Activity Relationship and Antibacterial Activity Series of Novel Imidazo Fused Quinolone Carboxamides. -A series of novel 7,8 and 1,8 imidazo fused fluoroquinolones are synthesized and evaluated for their in vitro activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. However, only substances with the 1,8 hetero ring fused tricyclic framework, obtained as minor products (VI) in the reaction with aromatic aldehydes, show moderate antibacterial activity. Molecular modeling studies are carried out to optimize the pharmacophore. -(REDDY, G. V.; KANTH, S. R.; MAITRAIE, D.; NARSAIAH, B.; RAO*, P. S.; KISHORE, K. H.; MURTHY, U. S. N.; RAVI, B.; KUMAR, B.
