The technique of partial resin encapsulation is described for the direct fabrication of cryerobust exocuprate microelectredes from bulk ceramic samples, here Bi2Sr2CaCu206_6, Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu30~6_6, and YBa2Cu307 6. Cyclic veltammetry is used in tests of the electrochemical response at 295 K (ferrocene in acetonitrile/NBu~BF4), affording approximated disk radii 2.9, 37.0, and 32.5 ~m, and at 123 and at 103 K (ferrocene in chloroethane/tetrahydrofuran/LiBF~).Some nonideality in the 295 K responses resul.ts from electrode porosity and, at the smallest electrodes, defects in the HTSC/resin seal. Acceptable sub-To responses show these problems to be irrelevant in the high viscosity of the electrolytes at low temperature. These microelectredes usefully advance the emerging study of electrochemistry on superconducting electrodes by responding to free-solute electroactives at < T~.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
