We conclude that in an insulin-free medium, mimicking in vivo glomerular conditions, PDGF-BB or proliferative medium are needed to allow Ang II-induced DNA synthesis in mesangial cell culture.
In conclusion, exogenous cholesterol per se may contribute to nephropathy by increasing eicosanoid secretion, serum lipid profile, urinary protein excretion and the development of glomerular lesions. Fosinopril reduced all these parameters probably by its effects on Ang II.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
