A series of novel fluoroionophore bearing derivatives of benzo-15-crown-5 were synthesized by the amination of benzo-15-crown-5 followed by condensation with different quinones in the presence of titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4 ) and 1,4-diazabicyclo-[2.2.2]octane. The compounds were characterized by infrared, (1) H and (13) C nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Absorption and fluorescence spectral characteristics of these compounds were studied. It was observed that the anthraquinone derivative was acting as an Hg(2+) ion sensor.
New crown ether‐functionalized benzimidazoles was designed and synthesized via formylation of dibenzo‐18‐crown‐6 followed by condensation with different o‐phenylene diamines. The complexation properties of crown ether‐functionalized benzimidazoles with various metals (K+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Co2+, Hg2+) were examined using UV–vis spectroscopy. Hg2+ showed a well‐defined peculiar absorption maximum at 366 nm exclusively. All these newly synthesized compounds were screened for antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus oryzae, respectively.
Dibenzothiazolyldibenzo‐18‐crown‐6‐ether was designed and synthesized by formylation of dibenzo‐18‐crown‐6‐ether followed by condensation with 2‐aminothiophenol. A simple and rapid UV‐Visible spectrophotometric method is developed for detection of trace of palladium ions. Furthermore it was assessed for antimicrobial activity against bacterial strains Staphylococcus aureus (Gram+ve), Escherichia coli (Gram−ve) as well as fungal strains Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans respectively.
in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com).A practical, two-step synthesis of crown ether functionalized pyrimidines has been developed. The reaction conditions have been optimized, and the protocol is generalized for series of substrates. These newly synthesized compounds exhibited antimicrobial activity against bacterial strains Staphylcoccus aureus (Gram-positive) and Escherichia coli (Gram-negative). These compounds were also found to be potent antifungal agents Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans strains, respectively.
In the title molecule, C23H26FNO2, the central ring of the acridinedione system adopts a slight boat conformation and the four essentially planar atoms of this ring [maximum deviation = 0.019 (1) Å] form a dihedral angle of 89.98 (6)° with the benzene ring. The two outer rings of the acridinedione system adopt sofa conformations. In the crystal, N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules, forming chains along [001].
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
