The synthesis of carbon nanotubes filled with silver,
gold, and gold chloride is described.
The resulting materials have been studied by high-resolution
electron microscopy, X-ray
powder diffraction, and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The
EDS data were obtained
using a high-resolution electron microscope equipped with a field
emission gun which allowed
for X-ray analytical data to be obtained on individual particles
located within the carbon
nanotubes using a 0.7 nm probe.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
