Since the autumn of 1993, the collection of ancient musical instruments at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna has been transformed. The organizers have chosen a successful new approach which conveys an impression of the sound of many of the exhibited instruments, while also adopting a contemporary presentation.
Depuis l'automne 1993, la collection d'instruments de musique anciens du Kunsthistorisches Museum de Vienne s'est transformée. Les organisateurs ont choisi avec raison une nouvelle conception qui donne une idée de la sonorité de nombre des instruments exposés, tout en adoptant une présentation moderne. Rudolf Hopfner, qui a commencé sa carrière comme professeur au Conservatoire J.‐M. Heuer de Wiener Neustadt, travaille actuellement au musée en tant que chercheur. Violoniste, il fait partie de plusieurs ensembles de musique baroque et édite aussi de la musique ancienne.
