This study aims to describe the application of learning strategy of SQ3R to improve reading comprehension ability of the fourte grade student of SDN Mapala Kec. Rappocini Makassar. Type of this research is class room action research wich overwhelm planning step, action, observation and reflection. This research is focus on student n teacher. Result of the research shows that teacher’s teaching activity in cycle is in category cukup while in cycle II is in category baik. In cycle of frequency of ketuntasan categoried tidak tuntas and of the name some time in cycle II categoried as tuntas.The conclusion is applying of SQ3R can improve reading comprehension ability of fourt grade student of SDN Mapala Kec Rappocini Makassar
This research was conducted on the basis of problems found at SD Inpres Tello Baru I/1, namely the low ability to read students' comprehension. This study aims (1) To determine the application of strategies (DRTA) in student reading comprehension learning in grade IV UPT SPF SD Inpres Tello Baru I / 1 Makassar City, (2) To find out the ability to read students' comprehension before and after using strategies (DRTA) in grade IV students UPT SPF SD Inpres Tello Baru I / 1 Makassar City, (3) To find out the influence of the application of strategies (DRTA) on the ability to read comprehension of grade IV students UPT SPF SD Inpres Tello Baru I / 1 Makassar City. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design form. The research design used is nonequivalent control group design. The sample used was 30 students. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include observation sheets, tests, and documentation. Data collection procedures, namely pretest, treatment, and posttest, were then analyzed statistically descriptively and inferential statistics using the IBM Statistical Pachage For Social Science (SPSS) version 20 system. The results of this study show that: (1) learning activities using strategies (DRTA) are going well. (2) Students' ability to read comprehension in Indonesian language learning after being given treatment using strategies (DRTA) shows differences. This is evidenced by the results of the pretest and posttest of students' reading comprehension ability from the less category to the good category. (3) There is an influence on the application of strategies (DRTA) on the reading comprehension ability of grade IV upt SPF students of SD Inpres Tello Baru I/1 Makassar City.
This study examines the application of the Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review (PQ4R) learning model to improve reading comprehension learning outcomes for fifth grade students of UPTD SD Negeri 28 Barru. The approach used is a qualitative approach and the type of research is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects in this study were teachers and students of class V UPTD SD Negeri 28 Barru with a total of 14 students consisting of 6 boys and 8 girls. This study consisted of 2 cycles and each cycle consisted of 1 meeting. The data collection techniques used were observation, tests and documentation. Based on the research data in the first cycle the teacher's observations are in category C, the results of student observations are in category C and student learning outcomes show 43% completeness and are in category K. In cycle II the teacher's observations are in category B, the results of student observations are in category B and student learning outcomes show completeness of 79% and are in category B. Reading comprehension of class V UPTD SD Negeri 28 students Barru.
