Observed visual magnitudes of the short‐period comets 2P/Encke, 81P/Wild 2, 6P/d'Arrest and 73P/Schwassmann–Wachmann 3 and the long‐period comet C/1984 V1 Levy–Rudenko are converted into water release rates. These H2O release rates are used to derive the nuclear surface areas, minimum nuclear radii and gas mass loss of these comets. Combined with estimated gas release rates, we make an uniform and systematic analysis of the observed continuum fluxes in the comae of these comets with the objective to find dust release rates, effective dust particle sizes and total mass release rates. The nuclei of Comets 2P/Encke, 6P/d'Arrest and 73P/Schwassmann–Wachmann 3, which has split into as many as four fragments, are potential targets for the flyby of the CONTOUR (COmet Nucleus TOUR) spacecraft, scheduled for launch in 2002 July, while Comet 81P/Wild 2 has been chosen as a target by the NASA spacecraft STARDUST, which was launched on 1999 February 7.

Quality of Reporting Methodological Procedures in National Publications in the Areaof Business Administration: the case of structural equation modelling Abstract T he aim of this research is to evaluate the quality of the description of the methodological procedures reported in articles that employed structural equation modeling (SEM), including confi rmatory factor analysis and path analysis, which were published in RAE, RAUSP, Read, O&S, RAC and RAE-eletrônica journals between 2001 and 2010. A checklist for evaluating the articles was derived from the literature and was validated with 33 experts. The main results of the analysis of the 68 articles found were: an inability to replicate studies due to a lack of information and the use of exploratory research strategies without further validation. On the other hand, justifying the use of SEM use and the explanation of the theoretical implications of research fi ndings are aspects that were fully met by the papers. The checklist itself is an important byproduct of this research, given that new lines of research regarding the application of the SEM method are derived from it and it can also be used as a teaching tool in research methodology courses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
