Indicators are tools that permit to define parameters that will be used to make comparisons between a result and its expected value, as well as to add a value of judgement in this regard. The purpose of this study is to describe the experience of a group of nurses in the development of a computerized system to manage nursing care indicators at Hospital São Paulo. Four stages were used to implement the indicator management system: developing a nursing care indicator handbook; performing a manually registered pilot test; developing the computerized system; and performing the pilot test of the computerized system in eleven units at the hospital.
Objective: to understand what are the strategies used by nurses to mediate conflicts. Method: a qualitative and descriptive study that used oral history, carried out in the organ transplant unit of a university hospital located in the city of São Paulo, SP, Brazil. The population consisted of seven nurses with one year or more of experience in the unit. Data collection took place with semi-structured interviews. The reports were transcribed, and their content was analyzed according to Minayo’s model. Results: three categories have emerged: Conflict-generating sources; Strategies for conflict mediation such as collaboration, dialogue, standardization, and expressive action by nurses to mediate conflicts; Consequences of conflicts. Conclusion: there is a need to invest in the training of nurses to mediate conflicts, and it is important to develop skills such as interpersonal relationships and communication for the success of their professional performance.
Objetivo: Descrever a tradução para a língua portuguesa de site espanhol sobre Covid-19. Método: Relato de experiência sobre projeto de extensão que incluiu a tradução e postagem do site Segundas Victimas del Convid-19, em abril de 2020, por quatro integrantes do Departamento de Administração da Escola Paulista de Enfermagem, e um colaborador independente com conhecimento da língua espanhola, em trabalho remoto. Resultados: São listados 10 Necessidades e excertos dos 19 Recursos correspondentes para sua mitigação. Objectives: to identify the main quality management interventions used by professionals working at Human Milk Banks. Methods: a scope review conducted at PubMed, VHL, Scopus, SciELO, CAPES thesis and Google Scholar databases. Primary studies were included that address quality improvement strategies to improve Milk Bank processes in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Results: search totaled 192 scientific studies, 17 of which met the objective of the study and inclusion criteria. The main quality management interventions used in the Human Milk Bank addressed tools for continuous improvement. Six were aimed at improving processes, one to prevent errors and failures and two to achieve continuous monitoring. Final Considerations: the tools used by professionals working in Human Milk Banks have demonstrated effectiveness in managing the quality of services.
RESUMO:Os objetivos foram conhecer a utilização de sistema informatizado de indicadores de enfermagem de um hospital universitário do município de São Paulo, identificar a aplicabilidade dos resultados dos indicadores e verificar o retorno das informações para a equipe de enfermagem. Estudo descritivo, tipo survey, com abordagem quantitativa e população de 27 enfermeiros integrantes da Diretoria de Enfermagem. A coleta de dados ocorreu de maio a junho de 2014, por meio de um instrumento para avaliar a opinião desses gestores quanto à utilização do sistema. Evidenciou-se que 25 (92,59%) dos sujeitos concordam que o sistema é de fácil manuseio, 13 (48,14%) notificam eventos adversos e oito (29,63%) não notificam. 12 (44,44%) dos gestores utilizam o sistema para acompanhar a assistência prestada aos pacientes, entretanto, cinco (18,51%) não apresentam os indicadores em reuniões periódicas para sua equipe. Os gestores utilizam os indicadores para planejar ações de melhoria, porém há fragilidades nas notificações de eventos adversos, demonstrando a necessidade de desenvolver a cultura da gestão de indicadores na instituição. A UTILIZAÇÃO DO SISTEMA DE INDICADORES ASSISTENCIAIS POR GESTORES DE ENFERMAGEM DE UM HOSPITAL UNIVERSITÁRIO THE USE OF THE CARE INDICATORS SYSTEM BY NURSE MANAGERS AT A TEACHING HOSPITALABSTRACT: The objectives were to get to know the use of a computerized nursing indicator system at a teaching hospital in the city of São Paulo, to identify the applicability of the indicator outcomes and to verify the information return for the nursing team. Descriptive survey with a quantitative approach and a population of 27 nurses, members of the Nursing Board. The data were collected between May and June 2014 through a survey of these managers' opinion on the use of the system. It was evidenced that 25 (92.59%) subjects agree that the system is easy to handle. Thirteen (48.14%) report adverse events while eight (29.63%) do not. Twelve (44.44%) managers use the system to monitor patient care, but five (18.51%) do not present the indicators during periodical team meetings. The managers use the indicators to plan improvements, although frailties exist in the reporting of adverse events, demonstrating the need to develop the indicator management culture at the institution.
