This study aims to reveal the impact of distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic on Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) competence, productivity, and students' character. This research uses mixed methods. The questionnaire instrument consists of STEM components, Learning Products, and character profiles obtained from Elementary School/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Junior High Schools, and Senior High Schools in Jakarta and Bandung. Furthermore, the data were analyzed, and it was concluded that the performance of all the variables studied had varying degrees. Besides, STEM literacy skills are closely related to learning productivity and character building of students at all levels of education. Therefore, distance learning after the Covid-19 pandemic needs to be planned well and considers the level of STEM literacy and character content clarity.
Local wisdom is one of the important competencies that must be possessed by students who support 21st-century skills. The formation of the local wisdom of students can be built by literacy skills on social science. The study of local wisdom and the literacy of social sciences in basic education are still beyond its chances. This study aims to reveal the profile of social literacy abilities that support the formation of local wisdom. The method used is participatory qualitative where the participants are 44grade elementary school students in Bandung. The instrument used is a list of social knowledge literacy and triangulation by using interview techniques. The results showed that: (1) social literacy abilities that supported local wisdom varied based on gender and average social achievement scores in the previous class, (2) most students still had low social sciences literacy skills, and (3) literacy ability of students' social sciences from compulsory textbooks, social media and information from adults. This study concludes that social literacy skills and local wisdom in elementary school students in Bandung are still low.
Based on the results of observations to grade VI students of SD Negeri 2 Tanjung Kota Tasikmalaya, most of the students had scores that had not yet reached the KKM. Factors that are considered to be the trigger for the low learning outcomes of students' science learning include students who pay less attention to learning. This happens because students consider science learning in the classroom less challenging and boring so that students are less interested in paying attention to science lessons. Therefore it is necessary to make efforts to improve student learning outcomes through the application of appropriate learning methods. This study aims to improve the science learning outcomes of grade VI SD Negeri 2 Tanjung Kota Tasikmalaya using guided discovery learning methods. This type of research is a classroom action research using the Kemmis and Taggart model. The subjects of this study were 41 students of grade VI. This research was conducted in two cycles of action. In each cycle, there are planning, implementation, observation and reflection activities. The instruments used were observation sheets and test. The results of the first cycle research showed that the percentage of students whose grades were above the KKM had only reached 70.73%, so they still could not reach the criteria for research success. In the second cycle, the percentage of learning completeness increased to 85.37%. The results of these studies indicate that the application of the guided discovey method can improve science learning outcomes.
Ratu Zalecha Hospital Martapura is one of the referral hospitals in the Province of South Kalimantan. Data from Hospital Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Department shows several occurrences of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in the practice of patient safety. Human behavior still one of the highest factors in work accidents. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, training, and compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with the practice of patient safety in Ratu Zalecha Hospital. This research uses a quantitative method with analytic observational design through the cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all nurses in Ratu Zalecha Martapura Hospital. The calculation of the sample used two different test formulas with the proportion of 42 people taken with a proportional random sampling technique and using the chi-square test with 95% confidence level. The results show that there is a correlation between knowledge, training, and PPE compliance with the practice of patient safety p-value 0.026 for knowledge, 0.003 for training, and 0.015 for PPE compliance. Therefore it is recommended that hospitals can increase nurses' knowledge with OHS promotion, improve training provision, and improve PPE compliance with rewards.
