ABSTRACT. Parasitoid Hymenoptera (Insecta, Hymenoptera) collected in a cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) (Malvaceae) plantation at the municipal district of Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil. Parasitoid Hymenoptera were collected by using Moericke trap placed in a cotton plantation (Gossypium hirsutum L.) of the variety Delta Pine 90, during the period of February 23 rd to April 3 rd , 2001. A total of 16,166 specimens of parasitoids, belonging to eight superfamilies and 22 families, were collected. Encyrtidae, Trichogrammatidae, Mymaridae and Scelionidae were the most common families, being responsible for 45.14%, 19.11%, 14.33% and 6.57% of the total number of parasitoids collected, respectively. Other eigthteen families showed the relative frequency lower than 5%.
ABSTRACT. Parasitoid Hymenoptera collected in a soybean plantation (Glycine max (L.)) Merril (Fabaceae) at the municipal district of Nuporanga, SP, Brazil. Parasitoid Hymenoptera were collected by using Moericke trap placed in a soybean plantation (Glycine max (L.) Merril) (Fabaceae) of the variety Conquista, during the period of March 24 th to April 7 th , 2000. A total of 4,969 specimens of parasitoids, belonging to seven superfamilies and 15 families, were collected. Scelionidae, Encyrtidae, Aphelinidae and Trichogrammatidae were the most common families, being responsible for 41. 66%, 19.42%, 11.19% and 7.35% of the total number of parasitoids collected, respectively. Other eleven families showed the relative frequency lower than 5%.
Abstract.A new species of Ismarus Haliday (Hymenoptera: Ismaridae) from Brazil is described, illustrated and a key to females of Ismarus of the New World is given. The geographic range of Ismarus gracilis Masner, 1976, is extended about 5,200 km farther to southeast.
Hemerobiidae (Insecta, Neuroptera) is a cosmopolitan clade that comprises about 600 described species distributed into 26 genera. Since the publication of revisions to Hemerobius, Megalomus, Nusalala and Nomerobius, new records have been added in literature and taxonomic modifications have occurred at the genus level. The aim of this study was to update a checklist of Hemerobiidae species from Brazil and of specimens deposited at Coleção de Invertebrados do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisa da Amazônia (INPA), Manaus, Brazil; in order to summarize the geographical data of species in Brazilian states and in the Neotropical Region and to present new distributional data. The INPA collection holds 19 nominal species (55.2% of the all specimens identified at species level) of hemerobiids into eight genera and six subfamilies, mainly from the Neotropical Region; the remaining studied specimens were identified to the genus level.
Fauna of Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) in Caatinga areas of Southwestern Bahia, BrazilAbstract. Between April 2005 and July 2007, 1,087 specimens of Ichneumonidae from 17 subfamilies were obtained from samples performed with Malaise traps in three Caatinga fragments with different levels of anthropogenic degradation located in Jequié, Bahia, Brazil. It was found that the environment with the largest number of specimens collected was the Caatinga Remnant (CR) (494 specimens / 45.4% of the total), followed by Agroecosystems (AE) (399 / 36.8%) and Pasture Border ( PB) (194 / 17.8%). Cremastinae and Cryptinae were the most numerous subfamilies in the studied areas and together represented 50.6% of the collected material. The diversity of subfamilies was quite similar in the sampled areas. As a result of this study 18 subfamilies and 36 genera of Ichneumonidae have been recorded for the Caatinga biome among which eight subfamilies and 24 genera of Ichneumonidae were recorded for the state of Bahia. Two species were identified, Neotheronia lineata (Fabricius) (Pimplinae) and Joppocryptus occiputalis (Cresson) (new record for Bahia). However, despite efforts, further studies are needed to better understand the diversity of Ichneumonidae fauna in Caatinga biome.
