Ressaltar a importância da Harmonização Orofacial (HOF) no equilíbrio do Sistema Estomatognático, e dar destaque aos procedimentos cirúrgicos aplicados a HOF, que desempenham um importante papel para restabelecer a posição fisiológica dos componentes faciais, no intuito de melhorar a função e estética da face. Métodos: Este trabalho foi desenvolvido embasado em revisão bibliográfica realizada no período de 2010 até 2020, nas bases científicas Scielo, Pubmed e Google Acadêmico. Revisão Bibliográfica: A revisão bibliográfica, norteando-se pelos aspectos fundamentais que corroboraram com a criação da especialidade Odontológica Harmonização Orofacial. Esta é uma legítima especialidade Odontológica, muito embora incida sobre uma região anatômica comum também a diversas outras especialidades médicas. Do ponto de vista jurídico, o especialista em Harmonização Orofacial tem a sua atuação na cirurgia estética da face, garantida pela lei 5081 e reconhecida pela resolução CFO-198/2019. O Sistema Estomatognático é o pilar central que alicerça a atuação do Cirurgião-Dentista e com o passar do tempo a anatomia da face sofre mudanças tanto nos tecidos moles e duros. Essas alterações contribuem para o envelhecimento facial e podem ocasionar desequilíbrio funcional e/ou estético e comprometer a saúde. Como há inúmeras abordagens disponíveis para restaurar estrategicamente a aparência jovem, é preciso ter em mente que, em alguns casos, procedimentos minimamente invasivos podem não levar a um resultado satisfatório. Portanto, a HOF Cirúrgica pode ser uma valiosa opção para muitos pacientes, visando fornecer, de forma mais duradoura, um resultado de aparência jovial e equilibrada. Conclusão: A Harmonização Orofacial é uma especialidade odontológica muito importante, regida por princípios éticos, que visa proporcionar aos pacientes tratamentos estéticos e/ou funcionais, sem que haja contrapontos entre estes dois princípios para a finalização de forma harmônica e equilibrada.
O desenvolvimento de tecnologias a base de concentrado de plaquetas obtidos por meio de centrifugação e métodos de manipulação a partir de uma amostra de sangue tem a finalidade de otimizar a cicatrização tecidual e promover a regeneração de tecidos. Objetivo: foi abordar considerações a respeito dos concentrados plaquetários autólogos e sua aplicabilidade na Odontologia. Metodologia: realizou-se análise retrospectiva da literatura do período de 2001 a 2022 focando a evolução e uso dos hemoconcentrados autólogos. Foram usados como termos de busca: plasma rico em plaquetas, plasma rico em fibrina, hemoconcentrados autólogos, regeneração e cicatrização tecidual. A busca na literatura se deu por meio de pesquisa nas bases de dados PubMed, Google Scholar, SciELO e banco de dados da BVS. Revisão Bibliográfica: o plasma rico em plaquetas (PRP) foi a primeira geração de derivados de amostras de sangue humano, utilizados com este propósito. Dependendo da técnica para a preparação dos concentrados plaquetários, eles são divididos em quatro categorias, de acordo com seu conteúdo de leucócitos e fibrina. Conclusão: Os agregados plaquetários podem induzir a ativação de fibroblastos e a formação de depósitos de colágeno, além de plaquetas e fatores de crescimento usados na reparação tecidual. Assim otimizam os resultados de tratamentos na odontologia, como preenchimento cutâneo, tratamento de cicatrizes de acne, implantes dentais e cirurgias dento alveolares.
Objetivo: Este estudo teve como objetivo realizar apresentação da anatomia facial e os fatores envolvidos no processo de envelhecimento facial. Métodos: Os artigos foram selecionados do ano 2012 a 2022, obtidos em bases on-line de pesquisas científicas, tais como, Lilacs, Pubmed e Scielo com os seguintes descritores: envelhecimento ósseo, facial muscle aging, mucular aging facial, envelhecimento facial, bone aging, face bone aging e fat aging. Revisão de literatura e Discussão: foram descritas e discutidas as camadas anatômicas da face e suas alterações no processo de envelhecimento e sua relação com a estética e função facial. Conclusão: O domínio do processo de envelhecimento e conhecimento das camadas anatômicas da face é fundamental para estabelecer o plano de tratamento com procedimentos de harmonização orofacial.
A Odontologia está cada dia mais avançada no uso de biomateriais em várias áreas de atuação. A fibrina rica em plaquetas (PRF) é um exemplo desse avanço, mas apesar disso ainda existem muitas lacunas acerca de todo o potencial biológico desse material. A questão crucial para a qualidade, aplicabilidade e função do PRF está ligada à forma de obtenção desse material. Alterações no processo de centrifugação podem alterar a composição desse biomaterial e também a sua forma de ativação dos tecidos. Objetivo desse estudo foi avaliar a influência da velocidade e força centrífuga na cinética de liberação de fatores de crescimento pela PRF humana. Materiais e métodos: Para o desenvolvimento do estudo, utilizou-se amostras de sangue periférico de pacientes saudáveis e submeteu esse material a três protocolos com forças de centrifugação diferentes: 400g, 800g e 200g. Os PRFs obtidos foram cultivados em meio estéril de cultura de células e avaliados nos tempos: 15 minutos, 1 dia, 3 dias e 7 dias. Os fatores de crescimento foram detectados pela método ELISA e quantificados em todos os protocolos. Dos resultados obtidos foi visto que apenas o fator de crescimento EGF apresentou diferenças significativas (p=0,044) nas alterações da força centrifuga nos tempos avaliados. Os outros fatores apresentaram mudanças na detecção ao longo dos dias. Conclusão: Essas variações no protocolo não interferem na detecção da maioria dos fatores de crescimento, o que traz segurança ao profissional na obtenção do potencial do material, mesmo com pequenas variações em sua forma de processamento.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi relatar um de caso clínico, que incorpora a associação da odontologia estética para a reabilitação do paciente em sua forma integral, por meio de procedimentos não invasivos realizados na harmonização orofacial, restabelecendo não só estética e função, mas também a autoestima e aceitação da paciente. Relato do caso: paciente do gênero feminino, 52 anos procuro tratamento estético facial, pois se encontrava descontente com a sua aparência, a qual foi duramente afetada por situações traumáticas, como a violência doméstica, que vivenciou ao longo de sua vida. O plano de tratamento na harmonização facial incluiu procedimentos minimamente invasivos como bioestimulador de colágeno, toxina botulínica, mini-lifting de temporal e preenchimento com ácido hialurônico. A realização do tratamento colaborou para a melhoria da autoestima e da qualidade de vida de pacientes. não somente com cunho estético, mas também psicológico, atenuando marcas que incidem na vida da paciente, O caso clínico foi concluído com êxito. Conclui-se, que procedimentos minimamente invasivos foram eficazes na harmonização da face, permitindo equilibrar estética, função e bem-estar, obtendo resultados físicos e psicólogos satisfatórios.
