ABSTRAKPengetahuan yang memadai tentang disabilitas merupakan hal penting bagi guru terutama ketika mereka menghadapi siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Salah satu cara untuk membekali pengetahuan tersebut ialah melalui disability awareness. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektivitas program disability awareness dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan guru SD reguler mengenai siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Dua belas orang guru diuji dengan tes pengetahuan tentang siswa berkebutuhan khusus sebelum dan sesudah program disability awareness. Dengan analisis statistik paired-sample t-test, diketahui bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan guru tentang siswa berkebutuhan khusus yang signifikan setelah diberikan program disability awareness (t=4,244; df=11; p=0,001). Penerapan dari program ini dapat diberikan kepada guru-guru di SD reguler yang mengajar siswa berkebutuhan khusus.Kata kunci : siswa berkebutuhan khusus, anak berkebutuhan khusus, disability awareness, sekolah dasar, guru ABSTRACTTeacher’s knowledge about disability is crucial to handle special needs student. Disability awareness program can be applied to equip that knowledge among teachers. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of disability awareness program to increase knowledge about special needs students among teachers in regular elementary school. Twelve teachers completed test about special needs students before and after the program is delivered. Based on statistical analysis using paired-sample t-test, it revealed a significant increase about special needs students among teachers after disability awareness program is given (t=4,244; df=11 p=0,001).
