An optical main wing deformation technique has been developed in JAXA by using the Cessna Citation Sovereign. Black markers on a main wing were taken by two cameras and 3-dimentional geometry was acquired by stereoscopic analysis. Wing deformation was calculated by subtraction between flight and ground conditions. Main wings of Hisho deformed about 130~160mm for level flight cases. A variation of deformation of main wings was due to aeronautical and optical factors. Aeronautical factors were Mach number, attack of angle and weight of fuel. Deformation sensitivities for these aerodynamic factors were determined. Optical factor was caused by the effect of cabin pressurization. Cabin pressurization varied geometry between a cabin window and cameras and caused measurement error. Correcting for this error, optical factor was calibrated by the aircraft pressurization using a cabin pressure tester on ground. Measurement data were able to be corrected using calibrated characteristics.Nomenclature c = focal length k1, k2 = coefficients of lens distortion X, Y, Z = position of an object in the world coordinate system X 0 , Y 0 , Z 0 = viewpoint in the world coordinate system x, y = point on image in the image coordinate system x 0 , y 0 = principal point of camera Xb, Yb, Zb = body axis of the aircraft Xt, Yt, Zt, = coordinate system of the total station ω, φ, κ = orientation of camera φ, θ, ψ = attitude of the aircraft
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
