Wing Deformation Measurement As Bases for In-flight Aerodynamics

Abstract: An optical main wing deformation technique has been developed in JAXA by using the Cessna Citation Sovereign. Black markers on a main wing were taken by two cameras and 3-dimentional geometry was acquired by stereoscopic analysis. Wing deformation was calculated by subtraction between flight and ground conditions. Main wings of Hisho deformed about 130~160mm for level flight cases.
