This paper aimed to analyse Bediuzzaman Said Nūrsi’s ideas regarding the nature of human creation in his major works. In order to achieve such goal, this paper utilized a ‘conceptual analysis’ method to reveal Nūrsi’s elaboration on the concept. The research found that humans, according to Nūrsi, arise from the mother's womb with God's fondness -Rahīm- governed with the eternal pact in the metaphysical realm to be ‘abid in the physical world, who are expected to fulfil their responsibility as God's servant by worshipping Him and Him alone in the form of honest submission. Furthermore, worship is only possible via the perfect actualization of intellect, and recognizing the essence of worship is the Amānah to be the vicegerent of God -Khalīfatullāh- as humans will discover a comprehensive understanding of God -Ma'rifātullah- through their worldly journey. This work finally ended with a reflection pertaining to the possibility of the philosophical thoughts of Nūrsi as a breakthrough in advancing Islamic philosophy in the present age. Consuming halal products for Muslims is a condition for accepting acts of worship. In fact, it plays a role in shaping a person's behavior and personality, and has a major influence on the process of knowledge transfer. Ironically, the low of halal awareness makes people tend to ignore what they consume, so that blessings in life are lost. This study aims to explore the concept of blessing in halal food consumption activities using the perspective of the Qur'an and Sunna. This research is a literature study using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Explicitly, the Qur'an mentions God's commandment for humans to eat halal and tayyib food. This shows the relationship between the Qur'an and science, namely how nutritious and good food is to be consumed. On the other hand, Islam teaches the concept of blessing in consuming food so that it brings goodness to human life. The concept of blessing is widely discussed in the Qur'an and Sunna. This blessing is an important point in building an Islamic civilization
This article aims to elaborate on Farid Esack's Hermeneutic of Liberation from Thomas S Kuhn's scientific revolution perspective. The background of this study is the liberation of society from apartheid hegemony in South Africa in the 1949-1991 period; Farid Esack -from the beginning engaged in the practical political movement and now focuses on the scientific field -gave rise to new methodical ideas in the study of the Koran i.e hermeneutics of liberation; which is an effort to fight against racist rulers. From Kuhn's point of view, what Essack was doing was actually a scientific revolution. This assumption will be elaborated in this study. This study is a literature review using qualitative-content analysis as the data analysis technique. The results of this study are; first, his method of Qur'anic is a scientific revolution; which he supported the strengthening of the hermeneutical paradigm in the study of the Qur'an. In that way, secondly, as Kuhn requires that the new paradigm of scientific revolution must be supported by the scientific community, Farid Esack can be said to have a scientific community with Fazl Rahman, Hasan Hanafi, Mohamed Arkoun, Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, etc. Thus, it is worth waiting for the success of this community revolution; to strengthen hermeneutics as a new paradigm in Qur'anic study in the future.
This paper discusses about the problems of women in the Qur'an according to the perspective of Bediuzzaman Sa'id Nursi in his phenomenal book "Risale-i Nur". Women in Islam have a respectable role and position. But as development of technology, the situation degenerated as the Jahiliyyah woman's habits were cultivating. To examine the problems of women, especially in the Qur'an, the authors use thematic studies and descriptive analysis. So that it can be explained some of the problems of women discussed by Bediuzzaman Said Nursi; namely the nature of women, treatise on hijab, polygamy, inheritance rights and improvement of offspring. The nature of woman born of her love is a pioneer of compassion according to Nursi, especially from the sense of sacrifice for his children. Hijab according to Nursi is every woman's needs based on her nature, because women according to their nature are not comfortable to show their aurat to the opposite sex who is not the mahram not as barrier but to avoid danger. Likewise Nursi looked at polygamy, he allowed with strict requirements because the purpose of marriage according to Nursi is to increase the number improve the heredity. finally it will maintain the type of human population. Based on the purpose of marriage which is not only to satisfy lust. This is the deifference between human and animals in general. So that inheritance rights can bring improvements and benefits. There is no inheritance except by marriage in accordance with the Shari'a. because the marriage string which is according to Nursi will lead to a positive tendency. As for the improvement of offspring who not only produce heredity. So it is meaningfull with help and support each other.
