Till date, there are few studies on the flora found in receiving environments polluted by effluent from agri-food industries. Floristic inventories of ten receiving environments in Cameroon. were carried out using the line transect method from upstream to downstream discharge areas in the Littoral and Center regions during the dry and rainy season. The abundance/dominance (AD) of each floristic survey was assessed using Braun-Blanquet scale. Species richness of the different receiving environments is marked by higher and lower Shannon Weaver (H 0) diversity index values, respectively in the rainy season and dry season from upstream to downstream. Regularity values (R) show that the maximum number of species is involved in the covering of the surface. In terms of floristic composition, the Simpson's diversity index (D) shows similarities between the different receiving environments. The Sorensen index (Q) shows similar number of common species between upstream and downstream zones of the same site. Nitrophilous species are abundant. Some could be organic pollution indicators, namely: Pennisetum purpureum, Cynodon dactylon, Commelina benghalensis, Lemna minor, Acroceras zizanoides, Echinochloa pyramidalis and Panicum maximum. The Poaceae family dominates the ten receiving environments.
Aromatic plants are one of the components of Cameroonian medicinal flora that seem to be an alternative to fight against the Covid-19 disease. The present study aims to establish chemical characterization of some aromatic plant organs used in the Douala IV sub-division during the COVID-19 pandemic. A semi-structured survey was carried out between September and December 2020 in order to identify aromatic plants used for health diseases during the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to their ethnobotanical index the selected plants were screened chemically through staining and precipitation methods to determine different bioactive compounds. Thirty-one (31) plant species belonging to 17 families were recorded with the dominated by Lamiaceae and Zingiberaceae being the dominant families and Ocimum gratissimum as the most cited species (28.57%) in the composition of recipes. Leaves (50.80%) were the most used organs to prepare the decoctions (33.33%) administered to patients orally. These plants were used in the treatment of 51 ailments diseases, notably malaria, cough and typhoid fever with 22, 21 and 12 citations respectively. Informant Consensus Factors (ICF) showed a relatively high agreement (0.75) for the use of species against respiratory diseases. Zingiber officinale, Citrus limon and Cymbopogon citratus had a good performance (Ip = 3) against cough, typhoid and malaria respectively. Extracts of aromatic plant organs were rich in alkaloids and phenolic compounds. These aromatic species showed their ability to treat respiratory and other infectious diseases, and could be an alternative to fight against Covid-19. English Title: Effect of phytoaccumulation of lead, iron, zinc on Poaceae in Kribi and its surroundingsThe challenge of preserving biodiversity in the context of modernization of industries remains relevant in coastal areas, especially in Kribi, where demography is galloping while pollutants increase. To control the effects of heavy metals in the metabolism of some macrophytes in Kribi, four sample collection sites were identified with two Poaceae, Panicum maximum and Echinochloa colona. With an average water temperature of 25.25 ± 0.17 °C, n = 16; the thermal sensitivity of E. colona leaves is found in relation to P. maximum. The more acidic Kribi site (pH = 4.16 ± 0.02) also contains more lead (1.04 ± 0.01 mg/l). Correlated with chlorophyll and leaves of P. maximum, the amount of chlorophyll accumulated and the number of leaves decrease with increasing lead. This metal causes leaf chlorosis, necrotic lesions, yellowing and foliage drying, for these two Poaceae. Iron is observed more in Bidou stream and increases with maximum P. chlorophyll. The average variation of zinc in the study is 0.11 mg / l and the accumulation of zinc prevents the development of P. maximum leaves. Keywords: Chlorophyll, heavy metals, Kribi, Poaceae, pollutants.
