Network platform employment management concerns the sustainable development effect of high-quality employment. However, new forms of employment in recent years have revealed many new employment problems, such as ineffective supervision of the laborer, the difficulty of defining the employment relationship between platform enterprises and laborers, and the chaotic evaluation and statistical standards of network platform employment. To achieve high-quality employment goals, an evolutionary game model between platform organization and platform enterprises, in which laborer supervision was considered, was theoretically constructed in this study. The evolutionary stability of each participant’s strategy choice was analyzed, the influence of each factor on their strategy choice was explored, and the stability of the balancing point in the game system was further analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. (i) The laborer supervision has a significant impact on the “Compliance” behavior of platform enterprises and the “Strict-control” strategies of the platform organization. (ii) It is more conducive to strengthen laborer supervision and improve the platform enterprises’ conduct code. (iii) The platform organization should give full play to the laborers’ supervision utility in the design of the employment recommendation system. (iv) In order to achieve high-quality employment, mutual trust and a harmonious relationship between the platform organization and platform enterprises should be constructed. This study not only proposes an evolutionary game model of network platform employment governance but also advances policy and practical guidance for platform organizations and platform enterprises to accelerate the sustainable development of high-quality employment.
Enterprises cannot innovate without knowledge, but the relationship between different knowledge forms and enterprise innovation performance remains unclear. Using data from hi-tech firms in Biolake of Optics Valley in China, this article explores the mechanism of knowledge forms and enterprise innovation performance. Results show that (1) knowledge stock has an inverse U-shaped relationship with enterprise innovation performance; (2) knowledge flows from internal R&D efforts and external collaborative innovation are positively correlated with enterprise innovation performance; (3) knowledge stock plays a positive moderating effect on knowledge flow from internal R&D efforts and enterprise innovation performance and a negative moderating effect on knowledge flow from external collaborative innovation and enterprise innovation performance. Suggestions about knowledge accumulation strategies and the knowledge resource loop in knowledge management practices are proposed.
Persistent drought is not a unique phenomenon in East African countries, different research findings cite different reasons for it, but the environmental problem is currently a major concern worldwide and in East African country (EAC) the problem is not an exception to this phenomenon; policymakers and researchers are interested in knowing the cause in order to mitigate environmental degradation and support policies and institutions for environmental sustainability. Therefore, this study examines the environmental sustainability laws and institutions in 18 EAC to determine the relationship between foreign direct investment and environmental quality. Using the generalized method of moments for analysis, the results show, among other things, that foreign direct investment, when associated with environmental sustainability policies and institutions, improves environmental quality in the long run while degrading it in the short run. Long- and short-run environmental improvements in EAC are also enabled by domestic investment, environmental sustainability institutions, and policies. The study, therefore, concludes that environmental sustainability institutions and policies are critical in EAC because they improve environmental quality and interact with foreign direct investment in the long run. Therefore, the study recommends that policymakers and other stakeholders in EAC take action to improve environmental quality and sustainable economies.
With the advent of the era of knowledge economy, knowledge resources have gradually become the core resources for industrial development. For advanced manufacturing, strengthening the knowledge sharing between enterprises has become a key factor of the industry to maintain their core competitiveness. Based on the perspective of knowledge sharing, this study constructs an evolutionary game model among advanced manufacturing enterprises and analyzes the dynamic evolution process of enterprises. The result shows that knowledge spillover effects, excess return distribution, knowledge costs, hidden income, and punishment mechanisms are the main factors influencing the choice of evolutionary strategies for knowledge sharing among enterprises. Based on the analysis results, the study gives some suggestions to encourage advanced manufacturing companies to choose knowledge sharing strategies, to promote the rapid development of advanced manufacturing.
Abstract:Recently open innovation practice in SMEs has received an extensive attention in the scientific research, management and government. Nonetheless, most previous studies were contextualized to firm's capabilities and quality of the external knowledge infrastructures from the advanced countries. Studies on the practices of open innovation in SMEs from developing countries are scant. Researching the practice and benefit of OI strategy with regard to the actual capabilities of SMEs and the actual technological and knowledge infrastructures is imperative. This paper explores how open innovation strategy could be adopted to accelerate the technological learning and performance of SMEs in developing countries. It examined the practices and trends and searched contextual framework for adopting open innovation practice of SMEs in developing countries. The paper shows that establishing synergetic relationship oriented towards the jointly and individually creation, diffusion and usage of knowledge is critical to boost the SMEs' learning capability and performance in developing countries.
