Cette étude visait à examiner l’impact d’un cours sur les compétences émotionnelles (CE) chez des étudiants qui se destinent à l’enseignement. Les résultats ont démontré que les étudiants ayant un haut niveau d’alexithymie (N=10) ont obtenu des notes significativement moins élevées à toutes les activités d’apprentissage sur les cinq CE de Mikolajczak, Quoidbach, Kotsou et Nélis (2014) comparativement à leurs pairs non alexithymiques (N=10). Les résultats ont également montré des corrélations négatives significatives entre la sous-échelle DIE (difficulté à identifier ses émotions) au TAS-20 et à deux des cinq CE de Mikolajczak et al. (2014). Enfin, les résultats ont indiqué une corrélation négative significative entre la sous-échelle DIE et le score global interpersonnel à des fiches de pratique réflexive. Des études ultérieures sur un échantillon plus large, à l’aide d’une mesure plus précise des CE et en fonction d’une meilleure conception pédagogique de ce type de cours, se révèlent nécessaires.
Cette étude avait pour but de vérifier l’hypothèse selon laquelle le style cognitif préférentiel d’un élève qu’il soit séquentiel ou simultané est susceptible d’affecter négativement les textes imaginaires produits par ce dernier. L’étude avait également pour objectif de vérifier l’hypothèse selon laquelle un élève ayant appris les stratégies de Cavanagh (2007) et affichant un style cognitif préférentiel séquentiel ou simultané produira des textes de meilleure qualité que celui ayant un style cognitif préférentiel semblable mais qui n’a pas été exposé à ces mêmes stratégies. Pour tester ces hypothèses, nous avons déterminé le style cognitif préférentiel de 45 sujets franco-albertains, soit 33 garçons et 12 filles de 9 ou 10 ans, à l’aide de l’Épreuve verbale d’aptitudes cognitives (ÉVAC) élaborée par Flessas et Lussier (2003). Lors d’un prétest, nous avons divisé les sujets en deux groupes (expérimental et témoin) avant de leur demander d’écrire un récit de fiction. Ensuite, pendant une période de 12 semaines, nous avons enseigné au groupe expérimental les stratégies réunies par Cavanagh (2007). Enfin (lors du post-test), nous avons demandé aux membres des deux groupes de rédiger un dernier récit. Tous les résultats se rapportant aux hypothèses de la présente étude ne sont pas conformes à nos attentes. Finalement, nous proposons des pistes de recherches prometteuses qui permettraient d’éviter certaines embûches rencontrées dans la présente étude.
