Schooling period is particularly important for posture formation because during this period pupils grow and develop quickly, bones and their commissures are intensively forming. The child should also get knowledge about hygiene and healthy lifestyle but still more significance is attached to physical exercises, active physical activities, strengthening all body muscles. 60 eighth form pupils at the age from 13 to 14 years participated in the research. The majority of adolescents choose more than one kind of physical activity but physical education lessons remain the main occupation during which children engage in physical activities. More than a half of adolescents do exercises on their own, less than a half of them go to workouts or the sports club.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the attitude of 8 form students of Šiauliai city progymnasiums towards health and physical activeness. The study was attended by 870 (out of 1088) 8 form students of Šiauliai city progymnasiums. Questionnaire survey was chosen as the main research instrument. The research was conducted employing quantitative research methodology. The respondents of the research were given out questionnaires, the data of which were systematised, analysed and presented in graphs.
The aim of the research is to assess the change of psychomotor reactions of persons having intellectual disorders by applying individual programmes for development of physical abilities. 12 individuals with mild intellectual disorders and 13 individuals with moderate intellectual disorders who attend the vocational rehabilitation training centre participated in the research. The research was carried out on the ground of linear experiment methods. Assessment of the psychomotor reactions speed was carried out using hardware and software Ergos II Work Simulator. After the fi rst assessment, individual programmes for development of physical abilities have been designed and applied; the main aim of the programmes was to develop psychomotor reactions of people with intellectual disorders by applying physical exercises.
