Este artículo se traza interdisciplinariamente con el propósito de conocer las formas y contextos que inciden para la configuración de identidades políticas manifiestas en el ejercicio de liderazgos masculinos por parte de seis indígenas nahuas migrantes en Nuevo León. La instrumentación de este trabajo se orientó desde un enfoque cualitativo; el abordaje metodológico que se utilizó fue el estudio de caso y, para la selección de los sujetos, se procedió a través de un muestreo no probabilístico. Este trabajo concluye con un análisis sobre las circunstancias, retos y contextos donde ellos realizan, o pretenden realizar, su trabajo y engarza, a su plataforma teórica, narrativas que aportan testimonio vivo sobre la importancia que implica la búsqueda no sólo del bien personal, sino, principalmente, del bienestar colectivo en un espacio social que les preserva un lugar de marginación social, discriminación racial y exclusión cultural por su condición étnica.
El texto que a continuación se presenta hace un esbozo histórico del refugio en México, atendiendo a los diferentes contingentes de población que desde finales del siglo XIX y hasta nuestros días han visto en México o bien un lugar para pedir asilo o solicitar refugio, o simplemente una ruta de paso hacia los Estados Unidos de América. El texto abreva en fuentes documentales y literatura especializada en el tema y caracteriza a la población en condiciones de refugio en nuestro país.
El propósito del presente proyecto editorial se enfoca en la profundización teórica y la aplicación práctica de lo urbano-metropolitano, visualizando a este espacio 'sui generis' desde la óptica de múltiples investigaciones científicas, originales e inéditas, las cuales lo explican no sólo desde las diferentes orientaciones disciplinares aplicadas en el 'locus typicus' de cada copartícipe; sino también a partir de la utilización de variadas metodologías operativas, vinculadas a la línea de investigación de cada autor. Dicho sea de paso, todos los capítulos incluidos están firmados por académicos-investigadores de carrera, los cuales cuentan con una amplia y probada experiencia en su línea disciplinar de investigación. Para el propósito inicialmente declarado, se evidencia que todos los capítulos contenidos en este libro están concebidos por científicos expertos, quienes cuentan con sendas certificaciones, entre ellas, la del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores del CONAHCYT, México.
