La expansión urbana es un fenómeno de suma importancia para quienes habitan en grandes ciudades y sienten los efectos de la misma, lo cual puede afectar su calidad de vida. Al respecto, el objetivo de la presente investigación es conocer la percepción del ser urbano en relación a la calidad de vida urbana en el área metropolitana de Monterrey, México. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa, de diseño de análisis temático. Participaron 24 personas residentes de la zona metropolitana de Monterrey. Se aplicó una entrevista en profundidad semiestructurada. Como resultados se encontró que la calidad de vida urbana puede ser entendida a través de las calidades externas, tales como el estándar de vida adecuado a sus necesidades; e internas, tales como la felicidad urbana, los estilos de vida urbana y el repensar el vínculo sociedad y naturaleza. Se concluye que tanto la percepción de las calidades externas, e internas afectan a la calidad de vida urbana. Asimismo, su conocimiento es de importancia para la formulación intervenciones psicoeducativas que mejoren la calidad de vida urbana en los residentes.
El propósito del presente proyecto editorial se enfoca en la profundización teórica y la aplicación práctica de lo urbano-metropolitano, visualizando a este espacio 'sui generis' desde la óptica de múltiples investigaciones científicas, originales e inéditas, las cuales lo explican no sólo desde las diferentes orientaciones disciplinares aplicadas en el 'locus typicus' de cada copartícipe; sino también a partir de la utilización de variadas metodologías operativas, vinculadas a la línea de investigación de cada autor. Dicho sea de paso, todos los capítulos incluidos están firmados por académicos-investigadores de carrera, los cuales cuentan con una amplia y probada experiencia en su línea disciplinar de investigación. Para el propósito inicialmente declarado, se evidencia que todos los capítulos contenidos en este libro están concebidos por científicos expertos, quienes cuentan con sendas certificaciones, entre ellas, la del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores del CONAHCYT, México. El cuerpo de autores es el siguiente: Dr. Eduardo Sousa González, Dr. Jorge Gasca Salas, Dr. Carlos E. Flores Rodríguez, Dr. Raymundo Ramos Delgado, Dr. Mario Alberto Jurado Montelongo, Dra. Finalmente, se tiene la certeza de que no solamente el investigador vinculado a la temática de la ciudad o la metrópoli encontrará una diversidad de posiciones teóricas y de estudio de caso; seguramente, otros lectores descubrirán también un tópico de interés con una visión original, interdisciplinar y sobre todo de actualidad sobre estas concentraciones humanas.
El propósito de este estudio fue desarrollar un proyecto de investigación interdisciplinario – psicología y arquitectura - de corte etnográfico que respetara las características de diversidad y territorialidad propias de Santa Catarina Lachatao, comunidad indígena mexicana en la Sierra Norte de Oaxaca, proponiendo un nuevo abordaje metodológico. Se trabaja a partir de la interpretación gráfica desde una perspectiva biográfica-narrativa que permite tener acceso a la identidad, los significados y el saber práctico de los serranos. En un total de 28 dibujos de 17 niños y niñas se muestran las interacciones, los elementos y los lazos comunes compartidos desde su cultura, ideología y valores que los mayores de Lachatao han sabido transmitir a los más pequeños.
