Este artículo pretende indagar en las relaciones que pueden advertise entre dos corpora históricos del siglo XII: las obras del obispo Pelayo de Oviedo y la Historia silensis (antes legionensis). Estos dos autores, que parecen haberse desenvuelto en los mismos círculos y territorios, incluyen en ocasiones versiones divergentes de las mismas creaciones legendarias, la traslación del Arca Santa y la historia de la Cruz de los Ángeles. Puesto que resulta imposible que no se hayan conocido, se propone una redacción de la Historia legionensis condicionada por el conocimiento de las creaciones propagandísticas que se estaban elaborando en Oviedo desde fines del siglo XI por iniciativa del obispo Arias, antes a su fijación por escrito en la obra de Pelayo de Oviedo. L’objet de l’article qui est ici présenté est l’étude des relations entre deux corpora du XIIe siècle: les œuvres de l’évêque Pélage d’Oviedo et l’ Historia silensis (ou plutôt legionensis). Les auteurs, qui semblent avoir évolué dans les mêmes cercles et les mêmes territoires, proposent parfois des versions divergentes des mêmes créations légendaires, – la translation de l’Arca santa et l’histoire de la croix des Anges. L’hypothèse qui est ici défendue est donc que la rédaction de l’Historia legionensis a été influencée par les créations propagandistes en cours d’élaboration à Oviedo au cours du XIe siècle à l’initiative de l’évêque Arias, avant leur élaboration écrite dans l’œuvre de Pélage d’Oviedo
Las reliquias de la catedral de Oviedo se describen y enumeran en dos conjuntos de fuentes medievales. La primera corresponde a finales del siglo XI y comprende el Acta de Apertura de 1075, la inscripción en el relicario conocido como Arca Santa y la epístola dirigida por el obispo Osmundus de Astorga a Ida de Boulogne. La segunda procede del scriptorium organizado en Oviedo por el obispo Pelayo, en el siglo XII. En este artículo se intenta analizar la secuencia de los diferentes relatos y cómo se relacionan entre sí.The relics of the Cathedral of Oviedo are described and listed in two sets of medieval sources. The first corresponds to the end of the 11th century and includes the Opening Act of 1075, the inscription in the reliquary known as the Arca Santa and the epistle written by Bishop Osmundus of Astorga to Ide de Boulogne. The second comes from the scriptorium organized in Oviedo by Bishop Pelayo, in the 12th century. In this article we try to analyze the sequence of the different stories and how they relate to each other.
ResumenEn la iglesia hispánica se produjeron diversos movimientos reformistas a lo largo de la Edad Media. A partir de c. 1050, resulta en ocasiones difícil diferenciar este tipo de transformaciones de las propiciadas por el papa Gregorio VII. En este artículo se intentará analizar, en este contexto, el papel desempeñado por el obispo Arias de Oviedo (1069-1093) en la reforma hispánica, así como el acontecimiento más importante de su episcopado: la apertura del Arca Santa.
