O objeto desta entrevista é mostrar a visão de Laura Mulvey acerca das inovações tecnológicas que o cinema, com ênfase na narrativa, vem sofrendo desde a publicação, em 1975, de “Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema”, chegando a um de seus últimos trabalhos, o livro Death 24x a Second: Stillness and the Moving Image (2005). Em meio à celebração dos 40 anos da publicacão daquele artigo, nesta entrevista, além de discutir seus trabalhos teóricos, também é traçada uma linha do tempo que inclui um de seus filmes mais comentados, Riddles of the Sphinx (1977) até seu último trabalho, codirigido com Mark Lewis, 23rd August 2008.
O Grupo de Pesquisa Sexualidade e Escola (Gese) completa seus 20 anos de vivências diálogos e debates acerca das temáticas de corpos, gênero e sexualidade, tanto nas escolas, quanto nos mais diversos espaços educativos. Além disso, o GESE, através de ações que envolvem ensino, pesquisa e extensão, luta e resiste frente às discriminações de gênero, sexualidade e as suas intersecções. O texto objetiva apresentar as ações do Gese que estão pautadas na indissociabilidade a fim de possibilitar uma educação para a sexualidade que desconstrua discursos e práticas sexistas, racistas, misóginas, LGBTIfóbicas, entre outras manifestações de preconceito e discriminação. Dessa forma, possibilitando, a visibilidade e vivências de sujeitos que des(estabilizam) as normas sociais de gênero e de sexualidade. A arena teórica do grupo de pesquisa está fundamentada no pensamento pós-estruturalista, que nos faz perceber que os corpos, as sexualidades e os gêneros são construções históricas, sociais e culturais articuladas com as dimensões de classe e de raça/etnia.
