Reclaimed rubber powder (RRP) was treated by the addition of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) to impart desired properties suitable for oil resistance applications. The produced GMA-RRP was mixed with nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) in various compositions. The blends were irradiated with gamma radiation doses of 50-250 kGy. The compounding of the blend factors has been elaborated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Different properties of the synthesized unirradiated and irradiated blends such as tensile strength, elongation at break, hardness, swelling behavior in motor and brake oils and thermal stability were investigated with respect to the RRP content. Results show that the tensile strength, hardness and swelling resistance increase with increasing NBR content in the blend. It has been shown that the tensile strength increased with dose. Sodium-alginate/acrylamide (Na-alginate/ AAm) cross-linked hydrogel was prepared by using gamma irradiation. The gel content and the water absorbency behavior of the obtained hydrogel were investigated. The thermal and morphological properties of the prepared hydrogel were studied using thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The thermal stability of Na-alginate significantly changed when mixed with AAm. The adsorption of basic violet 7 dye on the prepared hydrogel was studied under different experimental conditions. The adsorption process for the basic dye was proven pH dependent. The maximum amount adsorbed (mg/g) of the Na-alginate/AAm for the dye was found to be 78.1.0 mg/g at pH 9.0.

In this study, the synergistic effect of talc content % and gamma irradiation on some mechanical, thermal, electrical resistance, and microstructural properties of the molded waste polyethylene/recycled waste rubber powder (WPE/RWRP) 60/40 was investigated. The ternary composites of talc concentrations, 5, 10, 15, and 20 wt %, were irradiated with doses of 50, 75, 100, and 150 kGy. The composites mechanical properties: tensile strength, elongation at break, and elasticity modulus, and the thermal properties: melting temperature (T m ) and (DH) were predicted. Also, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and electric conductivity were investigated.
