A relação entre museus e antropologia é antiga e marca não só o nascimento da própria disciplina, mas demonstra, a partir de aproximações e distanciamentos ao longo de décadas, as tensões e transformações de paradigmas teóricos que marcam o fazer antropológico. Nesse sentido, a produção de exposições compartilhadas, que acolhe e produz a partir de compreensões distintas, revela muito sobre a ambição atual da antropologia em estabelecer posições mais equilibradas com seus interlocutores. Foi a partir desse viés que nosso enredo se desenvolveu.Em abril de 2015, recebemos o convite da professora Edilene Coffaci de Lima para colaborar na realização de uma exposição sobre o Kãchi dos Katukina (Kãchi é a forma como esse povo nomeia um jogo de barbante, em alguma medida semelhante ao que conhecemos como "camas-de-gato"). No início, não tínhamos a dimensão exata do projeto como um todo, mas algumas noções das principais ideias que iriam nortear nossas ações. Nós sabíamos que alguns dos detentores do conhecimento do Kãchi sairiam da aldeia em que vivem no Acre para participarem como curadores da exposição e que os Kãchi, por sua constituição dinâmica e efêmera, iriam requerer formas diversas de registro e exibição. Nossa tarefa principal era a de apreender, em vídeo e fotografia, os processos de feitura dos Kãchi e da própria exposição. Estava posto o desafio.Nos reunimos no Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia (MAE) em Curitiba e fomos apresentados aos detentores do conhecimento sobre os Kãchi, Mame (Nivaldo) e seu filho Wisi (Fábio). É interessante ressaltar que nós, à época alunos de graduação do curso de Ciências Sociais, pudemos experimentar algo como uma "antropologia reversa" . Mame e Wisi às vezes nos perguntaram coisas que não sabíamos responder porque geralmente não pensávamos sobre elas, estranharam alguns de nossos costumes (como o de Campos 16(2):128-137, 2015
No dia 11 de março deste ano, o Instituto Política Por.De.Para Mulherespromoveu, no Teatro da Reitoria da UFPR, o lançamento do livro Gêneroe Resistência (2019). Convidado pela Revista Sociologias Plurais, Garcia teve acesso à entrevista com as convidadas nos bastidores, às falas e aos debates promovidos ao longo do evento.
