Character education is an essential component in directing students to become complete human beings, namely human beings who are cognitively smart, emotionally intelligent, and able to actualize the values of goodness in social life. As currently learning is done virtually, character education is facing obstacles. This research uses mixed methods with sequential mixed methods strategy and sequential explanatory techniques. The research data were obtained through questionnaires filled out by elementary, middle, and high school teachers who participated in the e-workshop on developing the internalization of character values. 576 teachers filled out the research questionnaire. The collected data were then tabulated and analyzed to get a profile picture of the internalization and implementation of character education carried out by the teachers. The results showed that off the three ways used by to implement character education; habituation, integration, and emulation, only one of them is applied by teachers in schools. In addition, teachers experience difficulties in internalizing and implementing character values when learning is done virtually. This is due to the absence of physical meetings between teachers and students. In fact, it is understood that the internalization process plays an important role in the implementation of character values.
Research is an appropriate means to bridge students' academic abilities with problems that occur in society. Students will learn to actualize all the abilities that he has while taking higher education. In addition, research can be used to improve students' 4C capabilities (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity). This ability will produce satisfactory research results, marked by solutions provided by students in solving problems in the field. The data used in the study are the results of questionnaires distributed to students. The results of the analysis of the questionnaire were used as a preliminary design to compile a research-based syntax of learning. The initial design was trialed and the results were seen in developing the ability of 4C students. The students demonstrated the improvement in their ability to select, formulate, and communicate the research projects.
Research is an activity that students need to actualize the understanding of the concepts they have with the ability to make solutions to problems that arise in the field. In research, all abilities possessed by students will be seen starting from communicating, collaborating, critical thinking, and creative. Thus, doing research can develop 4C abilities (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity). Therefore, the main objective in research is to develop the ability of 4C students and design research-based learning so that goals are achieved. Descriptive qualitative methods are used to obtain descriptions of the questionnaire data obtained. The questionnaire was distributed to 250 students from the Indonesian University of Education. The results of the questionnaire data were then analyzed and described. The results are used as a design to compile research-based syntax of learning that can improve the ability of 4C students. The results of the study indicate that research-based learning can improve the ability of 4C students. When students have been able to develop solutions to problems that arise, it shows that they have developed 4C abilities. This is based on data in research reports compiled and presentations made by students in groups. In addition, research seminars were conducted which were the results of selection from the best groups from each study program.
In 21st century, people must be able to think HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). HOTS thinking greatly influences the way of life of the community, especially in developing the region. The central government has supported the community to build independent village by giving village funds. However, this has not been going well because the use of village funds has not been maximized. The use of Pentahelix model is an effort to reach an independent village with the concept of ecovillage. In the study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the main data interview and direct observation. Based on the results of interviews shows that the use of village funds only focus on renovation and development and improvement of village infrastructure. Observation results show that Cijalingan Village has the potential become a tourism village with its natural panorama. The people of Cijalingan Village have handicrafts in the form of sandals. It is very supportive to side with the concept of a tourism village, so that in the end it is able to become an independent village.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
