Objetivo: Avaliar o conhecimento da população universitária sobre o uso farmacológico da Cannabis sativa. Método: Foi usado um questionário sobre a planta, destinado à população universitária, através do aplicativo Google forms. O estudo foi aprovado por Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa. Resultados: A pesquisa mostrou que mais de 50% dos pesquisados já usaram algum tipo de droga e 20% destes já fizeram uso da maconha. Dos entrevistados, 67% e 61% responderam que conheciam a planta e sua importância, e 33%, 39% responderam que não, respectivamente. 63% conhecem alguma patologia tratada pela Cannabis e 37%, não. Apenas 15% disseram que a droga age diretamente no SNC, discordandando da maioria (75%). Cerca de 40% dos entrevistados afirmam que a maconha é uma droga leve e 58% disseram que não. Uma média 77% dos universitários acham que a planta causa dependência/crise de abstinência. Discordando dos demais. 80% acreditam que a droga cause quadros depressivos/transtornos psicológicos. Conclusão: Diante dos dados da pesquisa conclui-se que os universitários ainda carecem de mais conhecimentos com relação às ações farmacológicas da Cannabis sativa, uma vez que foram observados apenas conhecimentos superficiais sobre o seu uso.
