The purpose of this research is todescribe the students' critical thinking skills and their correlation to the students' mastery of science concepts which marked by the grade point average.This research using the descriptive method. The subject of this research is26 5th grader students of Chemistry Program of FKIP Untanacademic year 2015/2016. Students' critical thinking skillsmeasured using critical thinking skills tests adopted from the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) Critical Thinking Questions Booklet. Students' grade point average is known from students' achievement of studiesdocument. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills is not satisfactory. 86% of the students are in the less skilled and unskilled category, also having a weak correlation with academic performance index with 0.26 of correlation coefficient.
Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat kelayakan dan respon siswa pada modul kimia pendekatan saintifik pada materi laju reaksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah modul kimia pendekatan saintifik dan subjek uji cobanya yaitu peserta didik yang terdapat di MA Darul Ulum Kubu Raya. Uji kelayakan diuji berdasarkan aspek isi, penyajian, bahasa, dan kegrafikan. Presentase rata-rata pada aspek validasi kelayakan berturut-turut mendapatkan skor 93,33% (sangat layak), 86,66% (sangat layak), 94,66% (sangat layak), dan 83,99% (sangat layak). Berdasarkan hasil dari perhitungan angket respon peserta didik terhadap modul kimia pendekatan saintifik menunjukkan bahwa hasil dari uji coba kelompok kecil mendapatkan presentase sebesar 87,71% memiliki kategori kriteria penilaian yaitu sangat tinggi sedangkan pada uji lapangan mendapatkan presentase sebesar 88,79% memiliki kategori kriteria penilaian yaitu sangat tinggi. Dengan demikian, modul kimia pendekatan saintifik bisa digunakan sebagai bahan pendukung pembelajaran dalam materi laju reaksi
<p><strong>Abstrak </strong></p><p>Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen<em> Microteaching</em> berkesesuaian dengan keterampilan abad ke-21 yang valid dan reliabel sehingga layak digunakan. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah <em>Research and Development</em> (R&D) dengan mengikuti alur pengembangan ADDIE (<em>Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement</em><em>, and Evaluate</em>). Subjek penelitian yaitu 30 dosen dan 70 mahasiswa. Validitas instrumen menggunakan <em>Content Validity Index</em> dan <em>Face Validity</em> yang menunjukkan bahwa instrumen dinyatakan valid. Reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan koefisien interkelas korelasi pada merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran dan diperoleh nilai koefisien interkelas korelasi dengan kategori sangat reliabel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan valid dan layak digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan peserta <em>Microteaching</em> dalam merancang dan melaksanakan proses pembelajaran abad ke-21.</p><p> </p><p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p><em>The aim of this research was to develop Microteaching assessment instrument that are compatible with the 21<sup>st</sup>-century skill that is valid and reliable so that appropriate to use. The design of this research was Research and Development (R&D) which refers to ADDIE </em><strong>(</strong><em>Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate</em><strong>)</strong><em>. The research subjects were 30 lecturers and 70 students. The validity of the instrument using the Content Validity Index and Face Validity showed that the instrument was valid. Instrument reliability was using the intraclass correlation coefficient in designing and implementing the learning process obtained result as very reliable. It can be concluded that the developed instrument was valid to be used in assessing participant’s Microteaching skills in designing and implementing the 21<sup>st</sup>-century learning process.</em></p>
West Kalimantan focused on the mastery of the subject matter to measures the students' success, so that critical thinking skill and scientific work skill was never been observed and measured. This research aimed to describe students' scientific work and critical thinking skills profile in West Kalimantan. The design of this research is descriptive. The total sample are 240 students determined by purposive sampling, which is by taking each 60 students of class XI in Pontianak, Sanggau, Sintang and Melawi. This research used scientific work and critical thinking skills test in essay form as data collection tools. Data that have been collected then are specified into categories of skills based on the average score. The results showed that the students' scientific work skills in category of highly skilled, skilled, less skilled and unskilled in a row are 0.00%, 4.58%, 19.58% and 75.84%, also the students' critical thinking skills are in category of highly skilled, skilled, less skilled and unskilled which are in a row 0.00%, 0.00%, 18.75%, 81.25%. Based on the results it can be concluded that the students' scientific work skills and critical thinking skills in West Kalimantan are low. AbstrakUkuran keberhasilan belajar siswa di Kalimantan Barat berfokus pada penguasaan materi pelajaran sehingga keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kerja ilmiah belum pernah diamati serta diukur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan profil keterampilan kerja ilmiah dan berpikir kritis siswa di Kalimantan Barat. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling yang berjumlah 240 siswa, yaitu dengan mengambil masing-masing 60 siswa kelas XI IPA di Kota Pontianak, Kabupaten Sanggau, Kabupaten Sintang dan Kabupaten Melawi. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes keterampilan kerja ilmiah dan berpikir kritis berbentuk essay. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya ditentukan kategori keterampilan berdasarkan rata-rata skor. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan kerja ilmiah siswa yang berada pada kategori sangat terampil, terampil, kurang terampil dan tidak terampil secara berturut-turut adalah 0,00%, 4,58%, 19,58% dan 75,84%, serta keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada kategori sangat terampil, terampil, kurang terampil dan tidak terampil secara berturut-turut adalah 0,00%, 0,00%, 18,75%, 81,25%. Students' weak ability to understand electrochemical concepts is due to the lack of self-directed learning (SDL) in finding their own understanding outside the classroom and not used to evaluate the learning difficulties they experienced. The android-based e-books could be used to support students’ independent learning, to evaluate learning outcomes through practice questions and direct feedback, and to exchange opinions between students and lecturers. The aim of this study is to produce an android-based electrochemical e-book to emerge students’ SDL. To achieve the aim, this study employs ADDIE development models which consist of five steps; analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate. Data were collected using content validity, face validity assessment, response questionnaires and SDL. The result of content validity is 0.94 and categorized as valid. Based on face validity, vast majority of users stated that the e-book application is attractive and easy to use. Moreover, the explanation, graphics, videos, quiz questions and discussion in the e-book application are clear. The results of the implementation of application as additional learning resource for electrochemical concepts can foster students’ SDL in the high category with an average percentage of confidence at 87.20%. Students show a positive response to the use of the application in helping them understand the concepts, working on assignments, discussions between friends and lecturers, digging more in-depth information, and do practice questions in a short time, also easy to use. Thus, it can be concluded that the android-based e-book application could help students develop their SDL
