Pandemi COVID-19 tidak menyurutkan semangat dari banyak kalangan masyarakat untuk tetap beraktivitas. Akan tetapi faktanya, informasi terkait pandemi COVID-19 mengalami mispersepsi dan tidak sedikit masyarakat mempercayai infodemics yang tersebar luas di sekitarnya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan pemahaman bagi para siswa dan guru untuk turut mengambil peran dalam memerangi pandemi COVID-19, salah satunya dengan mampu mengidentifikasi dan meluruskan berbagai infodemics terkait COVID-19 dengan pembuktian secara ilmiah yang diliterasi dalam bentuk desain infografis yang informatif dan menarik. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 11 Juni 2020 yang diikuti oleh total peserta sebanyak 56 orang melalui diskusi virtual dan pelatihan contoh penyusunan desain infografis COVID-19 yang benar, menarik dan informatif dengan tahap kegiatan antara lain: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan ini merupakan wujud kerjasama antara SMAN 10 Makassar (siswa dan guru) dengan Jurusan Biologi UIN Alauddin Makassar. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu para siswa dan guru telah mampu mengidentifikasi kebenaran ilmiah dari berbagai berita COVID-19 yang tersebar dan selanjutnya berita tersebut dipilah dan disusun dalam bentuk desain infografis untuk disebarkan kepada masyarakat melalui berbagai media. Pengabdian ini menghasilkan output berupa infografis edukasi COVID-19 kepada siswa dan guru untuk turut berperan dalam pemutusan penyebaran virus penyebab pandemi COVID-19.Education and Training on COVID-19 Infographic Design for Students and Teachers of SMAN 10 Makassar. The COVID-19 pandemic has not dampened the enthusiasm of many people to stay active. Information related to the COVID-19 pandemic has experienced misperception, and not a few people believe the infodemics that is widespread around it. This activity aims to provide educating and learning for students and teachers to take part in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, one of which is by being able to identify and rectify various infodemics related to COVID-19 with scientifically literate proof in the form of informative and exciting infographic designs. This training was carried out on June 11, 2020, which 56 participants attended through the virtual discussion and training examples of correctly, engaging, and informative COVID-19 infographic designs. Activity stages, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation of activities. This activity is collaborative learning between SMAN 10 Makassar (students and teachers) and the Department of Biology, UIN Alauddin Makassar. The results showed that students and teachers have been able to identify the scientific truth of various COVID-19 news that has spread. Then, the pieces of information are sorted and compiled in the form of infographic designs to be disseminated to the public through multiple media. This service produced output in the form of COVID-19 educational infographics for students and teachers to play a role in ending the spread of the virus that causes the COVID-19 pandemic.
Budidaya tanaman hidroponik tanpa menggunakan media tanah dapat membantu masyarakat bercocok tanam pada lahan yang sempit, baik dalam skala kecil dan skala industri. Tanaman sayur hidroponik menjadi pilihan yang banyak ditanam dan dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Salah satu di antaranya adalah sawi hijau (Brassica rapa var. parachinensis) yang kaya akan antioksidan dan polifenol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan Bio-Catharantin sebagai agen poliploidi terhadap fenotipe B. rapa var. parachinensis yang dibudidayakan di Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Genetika dan Biologi Molekuler Prodi Biologi Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok lengkap terdiri dari dua kondisi yaitu konsentrasi Bio-Catharantin meliputi C1 = Bio-Catharantin 0,05%; C2 = Bio-Catharantin 0,1%; C3 = Bio-Catharantin 0,15% dan waktu perendaman T1 = 3 jam; T2 = 6 jam. Pengamatan fenotipik meliputi tinggi batang, diameter batang, panjang daun, lebar daun, panjang buku, dan panjang akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman Bio-Catharantin 0,05-0,15% selama 6 jam pada B. rapa var. parachinensis berpengaruh nyata terhadap karakter fenotipiknya.
Produktivitas bawang putih yang terbatas di Indonesia membuat komoditas impor semakin meningkat. Perkecambahan bawang putih sangat bergantung pada faktor abiotik yang terkontrol dan tepat termasuk paparan suhu dan kelembaban, karena itu bawang putih ini dapat mengalami fase dorman. Namun, penelitian yang berfokus pada perkecambahan bawang putih masih jarang dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengukur karakteristik morfologi dan fisiologis siung bawang putih (Allium sativum L.) yang diberi perlakuan suhu yang bervariasi. Perlakuan dilakukan secara eksperimen faktorial dengan satu faktor suhu kamar (K) sebagai kontrol, suhu rendah (dingin) selama 3 hari (R3) dan 5 hari (R5). Suhu dingin dirancang pada 7 o C, sedangkan kontrol pada suhu 29 o C. Perlakuan awal perkecambahan bawang putih tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter fisiologis. Namun, perlakuan R5 menunjukkan nilai rata-rata yang jauh lebih tinggi yaitu 18,75% dan persentase kecepatan perkecambahan 16,32% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Selanjutnya, penyimpanan pada suhu 7 o C selama 3 hari menunjukkan laju pertumbuhan 76,44% dan 45,75% lebih tinggi, serta indeks vigor 76,73% dan 45,76% lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan R3 dan kontrol. Perlakuan R5 secara nyata meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, panjang akar dan jumlah daun yang masing-masing 66,43%, 54,45%, dan 50% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan R3 dan 84,26%, 61,79%, dan 50% lebih tinggi dari pada tanaman kontrol. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa perawatan pra-perkecambahan dalam penyimpanan dingin dapat menginduksi pertumbuhan dan proses perkecambahan yang lebih baik. Untuk meningkatkan varietas bawang putih lokal di Indonesia perlu kajian lebih lanjut khususnya lama penyimpanan dingin yang tepat untuk mengatur dormansi yang mungkin terjadi pada budidaya bawang putih di luar musim tanam yang sesuai.
Land is a place to live various types of biota, one of which is soil fauna. Soil fauna has an important role in maintaining soil fertility and health. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of soil macrofauna on Agricultural land in the Sumillan Village, Alla District, Enrekang Regency. This research was conducted in July - September 2019 at three different locations. Sampling was done using fit fall trap and hand shorting methods. The results showed that there were 3 soil macrofauna phyla, namely Annelida, Artrophoda and Molluscs. Each phylum is divided into 5 classes, namely Clitellata, Insecta, Chilopoda, Aracnida and Gastropoda, 10 Orders, 14 Families and 21 species. Soil macrofauna species found were Lumbricus teresteris, Lumbricus castaneus Pheretima hamayana, Lasius niger, Lasius sp, Minimum monomorium, Soloenopsis sp, Gryllus bimaculatus, Gryllus sp 1, Gryllus sp 2, Blatella niger, Lasius sp, Minimum monomorium, Soloenopsis sp, Gryllus bimaculatus, Gryllus sp 1, Gryllus sp 2, Blatella sp, Macrotermes sp fuscipen, Leptosia nina, Scolopendra alternans, Pardosa milvina, Euryopis saukea, Vaginula sp and Achatina fulica.Abstrak Tanah merupakan tempat hidup berbagai jenis biota, salah satunya adalah fauna tanah. Fauna tanah memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga kesuburan dan kesehatan tanah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman makrofauna tanah pada lahan pertanian di Desa Sumillan Kecamatan Alla Kabupaten Enrekang. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan Juli - September 2019 pada tiga lokasi berbeda. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode fit fall trap dan hand shorting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 3 filum makrofauna tanah yaitu Annelida, Artrophoda dan Molusca. Masing-masing filum ini terbagi dalam 5 kelas yaitu Clitellata, Insecta, Chilopoda, Aracnida dan Gastropoda, 10 Ordo, 14 Family dan 21 spesies.
