This research aims at improving the quality of: (1) the process of teaching speed reading using SQ3R method, and (2) the learning achievement of speed reading SQ3R method. This action research was conducted at the fifth class of a State Elementary School in Karang Duren. The data sources are events, participants, and documents. The data were collected by observation, interview, test, and questionnaire. The techniques used for validating data are source triangulation, method triangulation, and participants review. The data were analyzed using descriptive comparative analysis. The result shows that SQ3R method could improve quality of learning process and learning achievement of speed reading. The improvement of the quality of learning process could be reflected in the students' activeness in joining apperception, paying attention, in getting interest, and getting motivated. The students' thoroughness in learning also improved. The achievement quality improvement could be seen from the increase of percentage (i.e. 52.6 % in cycle 1, 68 % in cycle 2, and 84.2 % in cycle 3). Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan di kelas V SD Negeri I Karang Duren. Sumber data diperoleh dari tempat dan peristiwa, partisipan, dan dokumen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, tes, dan angket. Teknik validasi data menggunakan triangulasi sumber data, triangulasi metode, dan revieu partisipan. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis komparatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa metode SQ3R dapat meningkatkan kualitas proses dan kualitas pembelajaran membaca cepat. Peningkatan kualitas proses terefleksi dari keaktifan siswa dalam mengikuti apersepsi, perhatian, serta minat dan motivasi. Ketuntasan siswa dalam belajar juga mengalami peningkatan. Peningkatan kualitas hasil ditunjukkan perkembangan dari 52,6% pada siklus I menjadi 68% pada siklus II, dan 84,2% pada siklus III.Kata kunci: kemampuan membaca , metode SQ3R, membaca cepat
<p><em>This study aims to describe the quality of the learning process and the skills of<strong> </strong>retelling the contents of the biographical text with the print media using the Think Talk Write model of learning in students of class X Motorcycle Technique (TSM) B SMK Gamaliel 1 Madiun. This study is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is implemented in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Subjects in this study were students of class X TSM B consisting of 21 male students. Data collection techniques used in this study include observation, field notes, interviews, documentation, and ability tests. This research used compative descriptive data anlysis technique. The results showed that the application of Think Talk Writelearning model with print media can improve the quality of the learning process and the skills of retelling the content of the biography of the students in cycle I and cycle II. This is indicated by the improvement of process quality from cycle I with an average score of 71,42 increased in cycle II with an average score of 90,47. Then, skill enhancement retells the contents of the biography text in cycle I with an average score of 70,42 increases in cycle II with an average score of 82,80.</em></p>
<em>This research used qualitative research approach with psychology literature review. The data of this research came from the text in the novel Laut Bercerita while the data source came from the results of interviews with teachers, students, counseling and guidance’s teachers, and the authors. The data collection techniques using document analysis and interviews. The technique of taking research subjects with purposive sampling. Data validity using theory triangulation and data triangulation. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis models which include data collection, data reduction activities, display data, and drawing conclusion. The research procedure consists of the preparation stage, the data collection stage, the data selection stage, the stage of conducting data analysis (interactive models), the stage of preparing the research report. The results of this research are 1) the novel Laut Bercerita has the completeness of intrinsic elements consisting of 7 elements, 2) the inner conflict in the main character can be understood through Sigmund Freud's theory (Id, Ego, Superego) that is able to be influenced by factors within the character itself or external factors of the people around him, 3) there are 12 values of character education contained in the novel Laut Bercerita, and 4) the novel Laut Bercerita is relevant when used as a teaching material for literary appreciation in SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta and SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta because it contains a lot of positive values that can be realized for students in real life.</em>
This study analysed the problems caused by the patriarchal culture and the Javanese women’s effort to get their existence in society. The novel Para Priyayi by Umar Kayam was one of the literary works that was thick with Javanese culture. This study used the theory of existentialist feminism Simone de Beauvoir (De Beauvoir, 1949). The result of this research was the Javanese female characters in the novel Para Priyayi by Umar Kayam experienced injustice due to the patriarchal culture. However, Javanese women leaders made efforts, so they could bring out their existence in the private and public. The existence raised by Javanese female figures in the form of women can become someone who can become an intellectual woman.
This study discusses novel ecranization study to the film Melbourne Rewind. In this study that every ecranization or change of literary works such as novels that turn into films there is a reduction, changes in variations and additions that are like words in novel literary works, that writing becomes a form of moving images in a film consisting of plot, characters and setting. The purpose of this study is to describe the subtraction, change of variations and additions contained in the novel to the film Melbourne Rewind. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The approach used is the ecranization approach. Data were collected by reading, recording and analyzing documents from novels to films. The results of this study indicate that in the study of ecranization from novels to films, there are changes, additions and subtractions consisting of plot, setting and characters.
