É indiscutível a importância do programa para a promoção do bem-estar infantil. Dentro deste contexto, o papel do governo federal é estratégico para o alcance desta meta. Porém, é preciso revisar os incentivos à descentralização para obter melhores resultados em termos de coordenação e de cooperação entre governo federal e município, de forma a garantir melhor democratização do programa.Políticas Públicas. Ten years after its implementation, it is important to evaluate its performance. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the diffusion of PST in southern Bahia. It is undisputed the importance of the program to promote child welfare, and the role of the federal government is strategic within this process. However, it is important to revise the incentives for decentralization in order to have better results in terms of coordination and cooperation between the federal government and the municipality, to ensure better democratization program.Public Policy.
