Objetivo: estimar a prevalência de atraso do desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor (DNMP) e identificar fatores associados em ambulatório de seguimento de recém-nascidos de alto risco. Métodos: Estudo transversal e analítico com coleta de dados em prontuários de crianças egressas de unidades de terapia infantil neonatal (UTIN), com eventuais entrevistas às mães. O atraso no DNPM foi considerado a partir do registro em prontuário, avaliado pela escala de Denver II. Também foram coletadas informações sobre condições de gestação e estadia na UTIN. Foram realizadas análises bivariadas seguidas de análise de regressão de Poisson. Resultados: Foram coletadas informações de 282 crianças aos 12 meses de idade gestacional corrigida, sendo que 100 (35,5%) apresentaram atraso do DNPM. As variáveis associadas foram o peso de nascimento <1500 gramas e a reanimação em sala de parto. Conclusão: Registrou-se elevada prevalência de atraso do DNPM, com ênfase para crianças de muito baixo peso e com sofrimento fetal agudo.

Objectives: to elaborate and analyze the psychometric properties of a questionnaire to assess among pregnant women’s knowledge about toxoplasmosis. Methods: methodological study elaborating an instrument conducted in the north of Minas Gerais in 2019. The steps followed were: 1. Elaboration of the questionnaire items based on medical literature available in indexed databases. 2. Content validation. 3. Apparent validation. 4. Construct validation with hypothesis testing after the application of the questionnaire and comparison of the mean scores using the Mann-Whitney U test. 5. Reliability analysis with internal consistency analysis and test-retest. Results: the final instrument consisted of 26 items. Content validation reached 90% agreement among experts. The hypothesis test found a significant diference among the scores of the groups evaluated (p<0.001). Cronbach’s alpha found a value of 0.84 and the test-retest showed an intra-class correlation index of 0.78 (p<0.001). Conclusions: the instrument elaborated proved to be valid and reliable and could be used to assess among pregnant women’s knowledge about toxoplasmosis and, therefore, guiding to the educational and preventive measures.

Objectives: to determine the prevalence and factors associated with recurrent wheezing in the first year of life among premature newborns from Neonatal Intensive Care Units, in the city of Montes Claros, northern Minas Gerais. Methods: cross-sectional study, with data collection from medical records of a follow-up clinic, interviews with mothers and, eventually, search in hospital records. Bivariate analyzes were carried out between sociodemographic and clinical characteristics and recurrent wheezing. Variables associated up to the level of 20% were analyzed by binary logistic regression, and associations defined by the Odds Ratio and respective 95% confidence intervals. Only variables associated with a 5% significance level were maintained in the final model of logistic regression. Results: among 277 infants studied, about one fifth (21.3%) were extremely low birth weight preterm and more than half (60.7%) had birth weight below 1500 grams. The prevalence of recurrent wheezing was 14.4% (CI95% = 10.3-18.4). Mechanical ventilation (OR = 2.12; CI95% = 1.09-4.76; p = 0.030) and oxygen therapy time ≥ 15 days (OR = 2.49; CI95%= 1.12-5.00; p = 0.010) were the risk factors for the event. Conclusions: there is a high prevalence of recurrent wheezing in the evaluated group and the associated variables reiterate the risk of prolonged oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation for premature newborns.

Introduction: Care for extremely premature newborns has provided important results in the survival of these children. Objective: To characterize the morbidity profile in the first year of life among high-risk newborns. Materials and Method: This is an exploratory research carried out at the follow-up clinic for high-risk newborns in the north of Minas Gerais. Data collection referred to admissions in the period from March 2014 to April 2015. The instrument included characteristics: demographic, social, pregnancy and delivery conditions, postpartum complications and health conditions of children monitored during the first year of life. Descriptive statistical analysis and the chisquare test were performed, assuming a significance level of 5% to compare the distribution of morbidities by weight range. Results: A total of 282 newborns participated in this study, 53.9% of whom were male. Among the mothers, 58.2% were multiparous and 35.8% were hypertensive. Regarding birth weight, 59.6% of newborns monitored weighed less than 1500 grams. The main morbidities identified in the first year of life were delayed neuro-psycho-motor development, upper airway infections, neurological disorders and chronic respiratory conditions. Statistically significant differences were recorded for delayed neuro-psycho-motor development (p<0.001), neurological complications (p=0.008) and episodes of diarrhea (p=0.047), between birth weight ranges. Conclusion: Outpatient care for high-risk premature newborns contributes to the identification and prevention of recurrent diseases in this population.

Objetivo: avaliar as ocorrências de incidentes notificados espontaneamente em um hospital de ensino de Minas Gerais. Materiais e Métodos: estudo retrospectivo, descritivo, quantitativo, realizado em um hospital mineiro de ensino. A amostra foi composta por 375 incidentes notificados entre 2017 a 2019. Resultados: a prevalência foi de 12,2 por 1000 internações, tendo sido evidenciada maior frequência nos respectivos setores: Clínica Médica, Serviços Diagnósticos e Imagem e Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal. Houve maior ocorrência de notificações relacionadas à falha na assistência e nos medicamentos. As principais causas foram atribuídas a fatores humanos. Conclusão: houve um leve aumento no número de notificações gerais ao longo dos anos. Apesar disso, a mudança cultural acerca da segurança do paciente ainda constitui um desafio e requer tempo na rotina da instituição.

Objetivo: Relatar a experiência da aplicação da laserterapia em uma puérpera com traumas mamilares. Relato de experiência:  Durante uma consulta puerperal realizada por uma residente de enfermagem obstétrica, foi verificada que a mama direita estava com fissuras e a esquerda com erosão importante. Devido a dor, a mãe estava oferecendo a mama esquerda com muita dificuldade em relação a direita. Foi realizada correção da pega, prescrito analgésico e aplicado o laser de baixa potência com a residente em enfermagem de saúde da família. O tratamento consistiu em quatro sessões realizadas duas vezes por semanas com aplicação de laser vermelho na mama esquerda, através de um aparelho de fotobiomodulação e uso do leite materno nas lesões de ambas as mamas. Considerações finais: As estratégias adotas levaram a melhora da dor e cicatrização total da lesão, fato comprovado pela amamentação efetiva com pega correta e fotos para verificação da evolução. A experiência da consulta de   enfermagem   com   auxílio   da   aplicação   do   laser   foi   extremamente   resolutiva   pois proporcionou a puérpera conforto para amamentar por mais tempo, além disso enriqueceu a atuação da enfermagem na Atenção Primária.
