A "seção romana" do poema Alexandra de Lícofron é uma passagem de 56 versos em que a profetiza prevê um futuro grandioso para os descendentes e, ao contrário, um funesto porvir aos próprios aqueus. A passagem tão conveniente à prespectiva da Eneida, que há quem creia tratar-se de interpolação, entre outros motivos pelo fato de ser a primeira intersecção entre o mito de Eneias e o de Rômulo e Remo. A tradução dos trímetros jâmbicos foi feita em dodecassílabos acentuados na sexta sílaba, mantendo-se anacolutos, hipérbatos, cavalgamentos, que produzem a já notória estranheza da sintaxe do poema. Procuro manter por compensação as recorrências sonoras e a logopeia.
O artigo trata da dimensão paidêutica da “lírica” grega arcaica em dois dos gêneros abarcados nessa designação: elegia e mélica (canção). Naquele, observamos um gênero cuja ocasião de performance prevalente era o simpósio; neste, na modalidade coral, o festival cívico-cultual. Lidamos, pois, com poesia essencialmente oral, que só existe de fato quando apresentada à audiência adequada, formada pela comunidade da polis, em diálogo que pensa, celebra, revalida seus valores e tradições, agregando à essencial função estética a paideiado homem grego. Mostram-no a elegia de Teógnis (Megara) e a canção para coro de virgens de Álcman (Esparta), dois representativos nomes em seus respectivos gêneros.
<p>O novo fragmento de Arquíloco de Paros (<em>Papiro de Oxirrinco </em>LXIX 4708), que aborda o mito de Télefo, editado pela primeira vez por Dirk Obbink (2006), trouxe novos questionamentos para uma debatida tópica em Arquíloco: a fuga. Busca-se, neste artigo, fazer uma breve análise de como esse fragmento poderia influir na compreensão da fuga, tal como retratada pelo poeta, especialmente comparando-o com o fragmento 5 da edição crítica de Martin West (1992).</p>
Acreditou-se por muito tempo que a Eunomia de Tirteu (Fr.1 – 4 W) fosse um poema narrativo destinado à comunidade e entoado apenas no espaço do festival público. Atualmente a discussão permanece em aberto, sobretudo por causa da escassez dos fragmentos que restaram. Em vez de tentar neste trabalho conjeturar uma ocasião de performance específica para o poema, este texto visa responder as seguintes perguntas a partir da leitura do fragmento 2 W: Há marcas textuais que distinguem uma poética circunscrita aos eventos públicos e outra, própria do ambiente simpótico? Se sim, Pode-se dizer que a Eunomia de Tirteu apresenta tais marcas?
Resumo. Este texto apresenta dois objetivos: primeiro, visa demonstrar como a noção de Enárgeia, fundada e elaborada na tradição retórica grega do séc. V, está presente na poesia grega desde os poemas homéricos. Em seguida, visa compreendê-la no âmbito da elegia grega arcaica simposial, sobretudo na produção do poeta espartano Tirteu. Quando Plutarco, em sua obra Glória dos atenienses, põe-se a falar de Tucídides (347a-c), sublinha a habilidade exímia do historiógrafo ateniense em elaborar descrições extremamente vívidas, como se colocassem o leitor diante dos acontecimentos narrados, 1 e relembra a máxima notória que teria sido proferida pelo poeta arcaico Simônides de Céos (c.556-468 a.C.), "pin-tura é poesia silenciosa, poesia é pintura falante (346 f)". 2 Por esse aforismo, que perpassará boa parte das reflexões dos antigos acerca de poesia, temos a mais clara indicação de que a poesia era entendida, já desde o período arcaico, como um processo intenso de visualização, ou, em outras palavras, um discurso que tem como requisito fundamental a produção de enárgeia (ἐνάργεια, "vividez").
