Article InformationThe purpose of this paper is to clarify of experience process and formation of the attitudes to marriage in married students. The sample of the study consisted of 18 married students who were selected by purposive sampling. This paper was a qualitative study and content analysis kind. The data was collected by the in-depth and semi-structured interview. When the data reached to the data saturation; after that the data was analyzed by content analysis method. 588 concepts in primary coding, 81 subthemes in open coding, and 15 final and main themes in Axial coding were extracted from the analysis of obtained data. The findings of study showed needing the young men and women to financial and moral supports, supporting of government in cultural and social planning, importance of adherence or weakness toward religious, traditional, and ethnic values in youth's attitude to marriage.
Background: Infidelity is an interpersonal traumatic incident that can have cognitive, emotional and behavioral consequences for the victim. This study aimed to explain the effectiveness of Robert Enright Forgiveness Inventory (EFI) on the marital quality of women affected by infidelity in Ahvaz. Methods: In this research, a single-case experimental design was used. The population included all women affected by infidelity referring to Ahvaz counseling centers in 2016. The study sample which included 4 women referring to Ahvaz Avaye Daroon Center was selected using available sampling method. The participants responded to the Marital Quality Questionnaire during the treatment and follow-up phases. The data were analyzed using visual analysis, clinical significance (Reliable Change Index and Normative Comparison), and the recovery percentage formula. Findings: The results indicated that the marital quality increased in women in the treatment (40.37) and (44.88) follow-up phases. According to the normative comparisons, t was bigger than the table with the degree of freedom of 32; therefore, it can be argued that there was no clinical difference between the normal and abused groups in terms of marital quality. Conclusion: Robert Enright Forgiveness Inventory (EFI) aims to change beliefs, advocate positive thinking, increase the sense of tranquility, reduce the sense of revenge and teach communication skills. These measures can help increase the marital quality of women affected by infidelity.
Objectives This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of affective-reconstructive couple therapy in increasing the trust in close relationships and marital satisfaction of couples with remarriage and divorce experience. Methods This is a single-case experimental study with a non-concurrent multiple baseline design. Three distressed couples were selected from among couples with remarriage and divorce experience referred to private and government counseling centers in Ahvaz, Iran, based on inclusion/exclusion criteria using purposive sampling method during September-December 2018, They participated at eight sessions of affective-reconstructive couple therapy, once a week each 90 minutes. They completed the Trust in Close Interpersonal Relationships Questionnaire and Marital Satisfaction Scale before and after treatment, and at the follow-up period. The data analysis was conducted by using visual analysis (graph drawing), reliable change index, recovery rate formula (increase rate), and normative comparison methods. Results Affective-reconstructive couple therapy increased the trust in close relationships and marital satisfaction in couples after treatment and at the follow-up period. Conclusion Affective-reconstructive couple therapy, due to special attention to the couples' past relationships and increasing their insight into the causes of distress development in relationship can increase the trust in close relationships and marital satisfaction in remarried couples with divorce experience.
