Fibroblast colonies (clones) were obtained by explantation of bone marrow single-cell suspensions and were used to establish multicolony and single-colony derived fibroblast cultures by successive passaging of either pooled or individual colonies. When transpianted in diffusion chambers after 20-30 cell doublings in vitro, the descendants of fibroblast colony-forming cells (FCFC), whether grown from single or pooled colonies, retained the ability for bone and cartilage formation. The content of osteogenic precursors in the cultured progeny significantly outnumbered the initiating Correspondence : Professor A. J. Friedenstein.
The review is devoted to the current state of the investigation works concerning chitosan functionalization with carboxylic acids and derivatives of them, including oxidized carbon nanoparticles such as graphene oxide, oxidized nano diamonds and oxidized carbon nanotubes. The examples of a use of chitosan derivatives in the pharmacology, the regenerative medicine, and other areas are given.
In the present study we carried out experiments in vitro and in vivo and investigated the effect of proline-rich polypeptide (PRP) on the proliferation and effectiveness of colony formation of MMSCs in vitro. Various routes and doses of PRP administration to rats increased the number of MMSCs in bone marrow and spleen. Our research revealed opposite effects of PRP on the proliferation of bone marrow stromal cells obtained from normal humans and stromal cells isolated from a human giant-cell tumour.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
